Excellent special menu especially Buffalo & Elk choices. Service seamless! Buffalo marrow bones were a hit with our party. Buffalo ribs were a little over cooked & somewhat dry. All other items were very good. A great place for a special family celebration.

Went on a Friday evening with a couple of friends. One was in town visiting and we thought we would treat her to something very Colorado and local. The ambiance and service was excellent. The wine list was wonderful as well. Wish I could say the same for the food! The bison eggs appetizer was so overcooked and dry. The guacamole was delicious but the chips seemed like they were from a bag not made there. The bison ribs got good feedback from friends. The green chili Mac and cheese was the best thing we ordered and was amazing! I should have just ordered that as my meal. I got the stuffed pepper which was mushy and kinda bland. The potatoes and the green beans it came with tasted like they were cooked in some kind of animal fat like lard. Like a weird heavy greasy taste. The minuscule portion of green beans did not look or taste fresh at all. The side salads were really good but they do put ginger on them which I did not mind but I think not everyone will love fresh ginger. Or maybe was pickled? Next time I go if they offer happy hour again I will just get the Mac n cheese and save $200.

Wow, such a fabulous and memorable experience! The location, the view, the ambiance, the food, and the service were all amazing. The Fort is a great place for a special occasion or to get together with friends or family. It has been years since my last visit and I will definitely be back more frequently.

Another wonderful trip to the Fort. My date's duck was exceptional! My filet (beef) was cooked perfectly, but a little bland next to the duck. Very good cocktails to start, and service is always outstanding.

When made reservations, I asked for a nice location because of business dinner. We were sat in corner where the servers were banging dishes constantly. It was hard to carry on it was a real distraction and disappointment! This was my husband's boss from Dallas - a vice president of an international company! I was embarrassed.

As always the food and service were excellent. The food is very pricey so we typically only go when it's a special occasion. It's worth it though because they have such different meats than most restaurants.

Unbelievable experience. This restaurant is one of a kind and should be on everyone's bucket list. Our server and everyone else was 5 stars! The food was just perfect. We both chose the bison filet on the recommendation of our server. Couldn't have been more tender or delicious. It literally melts in your mouth and is better than any beef tenderloin I've ever had. All of the sides were perfect, as was the entire evening.

Amazing service by all staff (even outside) being very friendly and courteous. The food was out of this world; very well prepared, delicious, good portions, and worth the price and the drive. The outside ambiance was very nice with outdoor fire pits facing beatiful fields. The waiter was very helpful and willing to accomodate to our culinary desires. The only drawback (which our waiter also accommodated) are the chairs seats....too hard and the cushions are too thin. If they replaced those with larger thicker seat cushions, this would be a 100 star restaurant. We're definitely coming back!

Wonderful as always. My husband enjoyed the buffalo prime rib and I loved the tenderlips filet mignon.
We were celebrating our son's 59th birthday and everything could not have been better...the food, the service...everything! Two of us had the bison prime rib special...soooo good. One had the bison tenderloin and said he'd never had a better piece of meat. The other had a wonderful beef filet and thought it was outstanding.

We hadn't been to the fort in over a decade. We were pleased to discover that it's even better than we remembered. This is such a unique restaurant in terms of ambiance and menu. Their quacamole is excellent. The butter & herb Bison filet I had was perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was top notch as well. I heartily recommend The Fort.

Everything was excellent. We were also happy to get a table a little off from all the rest, so the noise level was a little better for those on our group who are hard of hearing. BUT close enough to the action to see what all was going on. The steaks were great, the vegetarian options were great.
