I would give it 0 stars if I could. Don’t waste your money here. Expensive for what you get!

This is a very nice spot and very good view of the surrounding city. I would say we if your looking for the most bang for you buck, this might let you down. It was a bucket list item for us but for the cost the food it self really let us down. I'll leave it at that. It's an experience and staff and service was on point but I wish there was more to the food quality itself for how much we spent.

Had very high expectations going in, given the history and pricing. We were seated in the round room. The fireplace was warm and cracking. The place had the feel of an 80s backwoods Midwest supper club. I don't think it's been updated in years. Although you want to keep the charm and character, there are things you could do to clean it up.My husband and our friends ordered the buffalo prime rib. 1 medium 2 medium rare. I ordered the new york strip, medium rare. All of the prime rib came out rare. They did take them back to the kitchen and threw them on the grill, but that only cooked the outside 1cm or so. The middle was still raw. My strip was medium, and I did not send it back because I didn't want to wait fanother steak to be cooked. We skipped desert for fear of the same quality as the rest of the food. For the hype and prices, I was expecting amazing flavor and quality, but there was none. Boring and bland is all I can say. Then the bill came, and thankfully, we looked at the items listed. They placed another tables items with ours. It took them a few minutes, but they fixed it. They blamed their system for lumping the tables together.Lastly, when we left, the way the parking is set up, we were almost parked in because someone parked over the line. We had to jockey back and forth about 10 times to get out.I guess I can say I've been there. I definitely will not be back.

I'm a Colorado native, and this was my first time to The Fort, it lived up to all the expectations,Excellent food, friendly staff, and the atmosphere was truly uniqueVegetarian options: A great option for vegetarians is the roasted stuffed poblano peppers,Huge portion, probably enough for 2, but it was divine, brown rice, cheese, red Chile sauce, wild mushrooms rizzoto with succotash, with roasted potatoes, filling and satisfying,

For the price, I felt the food wasn't that good. I didn't really like the atmosphere either. It felt weirdly uncomfortable to eat there, and despite dressing nicely, I felt out of place. Wouldn't really recommend this.

"Based on numerous positive reviews, our expectations for this establishment were high. Unfortunately, our dining experience fell short of these anticipations. Our group of five sampled a diverse selection of dishes, leading us to question the disparity between our experience and the glowing online accolades.**Appetizers:**- The Historians Platter was a mixed bag. The beef tongue and buffalo sausage were disappointingly dry, and while the Rocky Mountain oysters were passable, their accompanying sauces detracted from the overall enjoyment. The peanut butter stuffed pickled jalapeños were mediocre at best, though the chips served with guacamole were notable for their quality, despite the guacamole itself lacking in flavor.**Main Courses:**- Our main courses, which included two Herb Buttered Buffalo Filets, a game plate, a Gonzales steak, and a New York strip, were uniformly underwhelming due to a lack of seasoning. The game plate's highlight was the quail, but it was an exception in an otherwise bland offering. Additionally, the steaks did not meet our expectations in terms of doneness, though the accompanying potatoes received some praise. The meal's standouts were the honey Chipotle salad dressing and the mac and cheese.**Service:**- We would like to acknowledge our server, Ruth, for her excellent service, which was a highlight in an otherwise disappointing experience.Despite the beautiful scenery and views offered by the restaurant, the justification for its high review scores remains a mystery to us, especially given the steep $600 cost for a meal that failed to impress. It is our hope that our experience was an anomaly rather than the norm, but we are hesitant to return."

We went there with a large family that included six adults and five kids. The place was very busy as you’d expect at such a fine restaurant. The menu was quite plentiful so there was plenty of options to choose from. We knew it was going to be expensive and it was. Fortunately it was an overall great experience in terms of food quality and preparation but a bit slow on service. The cocktails were amazing but sure added to the price. It’s not a place we’d visit often just because of the prices but with the right situation The Fort would be on the top of our list!Kid-friendliness: We had a pack of kids and they were well cared for.
