First time visiting The Fort as an honorary Colorado native (after living here almost 30 years, you can call yourself one, right?).

Attended with my husband's parents who are return customers. My mother-in-law was excited about the performers and was looking forward to the carolers (FYI, we had reservations for 6pm on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024). No carolers, unfortunately, though we did see/hear the gentleman playing the woodwind strolling throughout the rooms.

(Honest inquiry: What's the point of booking a reservation if you still have to wait 15-20 mins to be seated? Just curious.)

The food was good. It wasn't great. After reading many reviews, I'm happy that our food was the better part of the experience and nothing needed to be sent back. (Our party of 5 ordered the guacamole, jalapeno poppers, 2 filet mignons, 1 NY Strip, 1 salmon and kid's chicken tenders.)

The service, however, is a different story. Cheryl (I can't recall if that was our server's name?) was nice-ish but there were numerous small issues that, alone wouldn't have been too problematic. However, when you're paying ~$100/person, they start stacking up and
become glaring missteps:

- Everything was SLOW or forgotten.
- She offered a straw for my 4 year old so he could drink from the water glass (no kid's cups). But she never brought one so I gave him mine once my iced tea eventually arrived.
- She didn't enter our main course order in for a good 20-30 minutes AFTER we gave it to her. Why??
- They brought the wrong salads to us. She even mentioned the seating chart "is difficult for the servers to remember" and that she herself has been working there 6 years and still has trouble knowing which table is which. (Seriously??)
- I never received an iced tea refill despite asking for one.
- My husband never received an ice water refill despite asking for one.
- My 4 year old accidentally knocked his adult-sized water glass over and no one came to assist in cleaning up which included a huge pool of water on the floor that I nearly slipped in. (I warned her he'd most likely spill but she said there were no kid's cups.)
- We didn't receive the final credit card receipt despite requesting it. We'd already spent well over 2 hours there and my young son was falling asleep so we decided not to bother and just left.

The staff wasn't rude or disrespectful so that's a plus but the service was simply subpar. And definitely not up to the standards expected of the fine dining price tag.

I don't have any reason to return to The Fort. And why would I want to? Eddie V's may not have the grand views but the service (and food) is exemplary - why drive to Morrison when I can get far superior food and exceptional service down the road for the same price?

We had our wedding ceremony/celebration of 13 people at The Fort in Bent's Quarters and it was perfect! The atmosphere, the food, the wait staff, all the little extra attention to our needs and small details were so appreciated. We really enjoyed the tomahawk champagne toast out by the fire, what a great extra! I would highly recommend! Thank you to The Fort for a beautiful and memorable evening.

I went there on Christmas Eve. The food made me sick. Half my table couldn’t have the selection that was offered. We had nut allergies and the still served bread with nuts and didn’t ask about almonds being part of the nut family.
The atmosphere was ok, but in the post there were a lot more places to visit and enjoy.

Just had an amazingly lovely evening at The Fort.

Arrived a bit early for our reservation and was seated in the bar. Ordered drinks and a jalapeño peanut butter appetizer. Highly recommend the Jim Bridger it was fantastic.

The place was hopping and several tables had paid their bills and were sitting and chatting. The Asst GM felt bad that we were waiting and brought us some appetizers while we waited.

Everything we ate was expertly cooked and flavorful. The staff was attentive and took wonderful care of us. Special thanks you to Chris and Tyler for doing everything to make my parents 56th anniversary special and memorable.

Great place, beautiful view, fabulous meal with bread and salad to start. Drinks on point and desserts were indulgent.

Highly recommend at stop at The Fort, Chris and his team will take care of you like you're family.

We love The Fort, the food and service are consistent and high quality. Our favorite appetizer is always the peanut butter stuffed jalapeños.

My boyfriend ordered the lobster and steak which is $80, and not even 2 hours after we get home he's moaning on the floor because of how bad his stomach hurt, and now he's been switching back and forth from sitting on the toilet to hugging it.

Our experience at The Fort was absolutely exceptional. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sides were equally delicious—everything was bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is beautiful and unique, making it such a memorable place to dine. A special shoutout to Kari, our server, who provided impeccable service and made the evening even more enjoyable with her warmth and attentiveness. The holiday carolers added such a magical and touching touch to the night. Truly a perfect dining experience—I can’t recommend The Fort enough!

The staff & entrees were overall excellent for 6 adults, i.e. filets, ribs, quail.
The apps were not good & we don’t advise ordering! Jalapeno poppers were shriveled, over cooked & should not have been served, the marrow bones were lacking much if any marrow, the RM Oysters were so dark tiny, over fried & lacking any “meat,” nothing like your picture and that sausage sampler was dry & hard to even slice.
Sad to say the bread was also dry & the crème brûlée even had an odd texture & taste that we passed on.
It was a busy, crowded night, we didn’t complain, but, we all agree that outside of entrees, there needs to be some serious discussion with cooking staff about things sitting too long & cooking times.
Please make it better because we want you to succeed!

The food IS very good, but the quality/price ratio knocks it down a star. You go to this place for the experience and to try meats you wouldn't normally have a chance to buy and grill from your local Costco, or possibly even a butcher. It's worth the periodic visit, and a must for the unique occasion!

Took our brother & wife for 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Everyone’s bison was so tough could not cut with knife. The quail was super tiny & no meat on it! I could not chew bison prime rib too tough! Overall horrible experience! Very embarrassed with family from KY! There was rehearsal dinner going on as well as a large party on balcony so we could not show them the view!
Huge disappointment! Will not go back! $300 bill!
