I think the number one thing you'll see across all their reviews is inconsistency with the food and the service. Biggest complaint here seems to be rude staff. It's isolated to just Ouray Brewery (the rudeness and back talk).
We went in March 2025 and we did not have our dog with us but when we were seated inside, we saw dogs come in through the little door off to the left that heads straight up the stairs to the rooftop. We thought oh next time we gotta bring our puppers. We came back in June 2025, and were quite rather rudely told that pets are not allowed. Not only that but he insisted that pets have NEVER been allowed here and when we tried to say we were here just 3 months ago and saw dogs on the roof, again, he said no you're wrong.
I was ready to just let this go but I did some research and saw another review on Google and that's exactly how we felt, we were being gaslighted by being told they've never been dog/pet friendly and we were nuts for saying the were. Luckily the reviewer found that post that said they were pet friendly at one time in the very recent past. Then they tried to say oh it's not us, it's the Colorado State Health regulations that state pets are not allowed. I did further research and restaurants have the option to allow or disallow pets only on outdoor patios as long as there is access separate from the main entrance, which there is. One door leads directly up to the rooftop bar, different than the main entrance. Additionally, Ouray County health regulations don't put any further regulations county specific on eating establishments.
The point being just say you are no longer allowing pets, don't lie and say we can't or we never have. I'm okay with that and do not expect every restaurant to be pet friendly but don't put the blame on the state or county, it was a business decision and leave it at that. Don't have staff insist it was never pet friendly,, because it clearly was at one point. If you have a pet and looking for a pet friendly place, try out Maggie's Kitchen with an outdoor patio right next to Mr. Grumpy Pants Brewery and you'll feel so much more welcomed there. Too bad as this place has potential if they'd just put the customer first always. Don't make excuses or try to "clap back."

Firstly, beautiful mountain town. A community filled with friendly people. Wish I could say the same about this place. The gentleman who greeted us and blindly instructed us to our table on the floor above, was very much so less than friendly. The Hazy was a solid beer. But this individual’s very poor demeanor really brought the experience downhill. The woman who took care of us upstairs was fantastic. Very engaged and playful with my one year old.

A roof top terrace in the summer, and swinging bar seats downstairs. It's a must-visit in Ouray, and the reason it doesn't quite get 5 stars from me is something crazy ... they don't give beer tasters so that you can check out whether you want to drink a full glass! Tell me why?! Other than that, it's pretty much up there with the best 😎

Got the Burger if the Moment, which was at that moment beer topped burger with caramelized onions. Plus some amazing French fries. The burger was done to medium perfection and really liked the pepper. That said there was an additional, more than a hint of, spiciness to the beer cheese. Spiciness is subjective but wasn't a huge fan however I still enjoyed it. The service was terrific and our server came back the right amount of times. Thank you!

Great place to enjoy a late lunch and a cold brew. A very nice crew running the kitchen, bar area, serving the food it all works like clockwork. The location is right in the downtown area and you have the indoor and outdoor areas to choose from which are super nice. The food is delicious and their brews are amazing and they pair great with their food specially their sandwiches and burgers. Overall a great time and I highly recommend this location.

I came a few years ago and had a great time. Food, beer, service all excellent. This time most of Dinning was close. Had to sit on the roof where you stood in line. Menu seemed smaller than before. Food was average. I'd come back to give it another chance, only cuz the first time was so awesome.

Super chill place! Incredibly kind staff, the waitress who took care of our entire wedding party for multiple trips in over the weekend, was a fantastic and made us feel incredibly welcome, something I know can be hared to do for such big parties. These guys are some "real ones"
