The lift was a great place not only for coffee but to spend a few hours surfing the internet and catching up on work. The staff was wonderful and extremely generous with their time and efforts! If you'd like a lift in your day check the lift coffee house out.

My husband and I went to Pagosa to get a way for a while and I’m such a coffee junkie that I had to go get my coffee fix before we left. When I drove into Pagosa it was one of the first coffee shops I noticed driving in (you can’t miss it!) as the location is perfect and such a cute little place.

Now, when we went in. It was immediately the vibe and atmosphere I was looking for. A cute peaceful and lovely shop.

My husband was surprised to see that they served Mate as he is drinks it everyday. Then We got talking with the owners and they were absolutely LOVELY! So welcoming and warm, we had such a great experience here. So glad it was our last little stop before heading back home as we left with smile on our faces!

Definitely coming back!

Thank you so much!

Love this coffee shop! The owners are so kind and truly care and give back to their community!
Recently went in and asked if they had any light roast, whole bean bags of coffee for sale. They had sold out, but told me they had an order coming in soon. They asked what coffee I liked and I mentioned that I liked Ethiopian coffee, but would be happy with any light roast. Within 3 days I went back and they had brought in a delicious Ethiopian coffee from Yirgacheffe!! They are always kind, efficient, and serve delicious coffee!! Love their new location ?

This place was amazing!!! Not only were the drinks delicious, but the staff and owner were so helpful and kind. It was close to closing, so the owner gave us several baked goods for free! They were all delicious, especially the danishes. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The Lift has always been a popular, locally owned coffeehouse in Pagosa Springs. What's new, is that in May of 2024, they moved to their new location near the bridge crossing the river at 101 Pagosa Street.
It was cloudy and cool this morning so I popped in for a chai tea latte. They were very busy so I spent some time looking at all the lovely, local artists artwork for sale.
The eclectic drink menu offered many delicious add-ins, like lavender, & chocolate, several choices of milk including oat and almond.
As you can see from the pictures, they also have a few muffin choices
I was told they're planning on adding an outdoor seating area and will have more food items as they settle into their new location.
This coffee shop was immaculately clean, with many places to sit and relax, alone or with a friend.
There is also a little alcove where you could sit and have a bit of privacy and another small space where you could have a group meeting.
I highly, highly, highly recommend the lift coffee House in Pagosa Springs for your must-have morning or rainy day beverage.

Parking: There are multiple businesses in this area so there is a parking lot, and street parking. However, there are posted signs that say you will be towed if you are not a guest of the massage clinic or hair salon.

Kid-friendliness: I would not bring young children as this is more of an adult meeting spot.

Would have been a lovely place to hang out if the staff weren't so aggressive about seating and Wi-Fi. They treat customers very poorly, as if they are doing you a favor for existing. Next!

Edit: despite the response below, I stick by my review. I encountered a hostile attitude before I even got my coffee (as soon as I asked for the Wi-Fi password), so this went beyond them not wanting me to sit at a 4-top, despite the fact that I was with a friend when I arrived, so wasn't sitting there alone (my friend left before me, so that's why I ended up alone there eventually). The table I was at was also the only available seating for the two of us when we arrived, because yes, it was busy for about 15 minutes. Then it quickly got less and less busy, yet I was aggressively targeted for taking up too much space. I was a paying customer sitting in one chair. This is not a restaurant. At a coffeeshop, you mix and mingle and people SHARE tables, especially at small places like this. There was a huge couch in the same room and not a single person came in and sat in it -- why? Because nobody needed the seating! The place literally emptied out shortly after my friend departed. And like I said, the attitude started upon arrival, before they could be mad about the table, so that excuse doesn't hold up. I also never got mad at being asked to move, and in fact said I would as soon as I was done with the call I was in the middle of, but after it ended, I realized it was not an environment I wanted to stay in, so I chose to leave instead. Just not a cozy or kind vibe, and coffee not as good as everyone raves, either. My friend was disappointed in her Americano and my cortado was fine but not the coming of the next Messiah. I suggest Root for a much friendlier environment and better coffee to boot.

I also want to add that I do sympathize with, and understand, the stress that comes from being a busy barista, as I have worked in a busy coffeeshop myself. But the starting place for customer service should be kindness, compassion, and gratitude, not anger and frustration. Try a little tenderness, Lift.

The drip coffee (Colombian medium roast) was the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time.

The addition of a cozy, outside seating area would greatly enhance this shop’s atmosphere.
