We live here in Palisade. The Carboy team has been great community players. I have watched these guys work hard in their vineyards and produce a quality wine that the whole town can be proud of. Thank you for making our community so much fun to visit.
Visited yesterday and opted for the tasting. You come back to the tasting room when you are ready to try the next wine. A few times upon returning, there were no other customers. Yet the women working 4/26 were busy talking to each other on a few occurrences and wrapped up their discussion before acknowledging I was there for the next sample. There were no signs stating there was a mandatory tip on the $17 tasting, and I selected no tip on the CC device. To my surprise I see a separate transaction on my CC for a 22% tip. Very dishonest employees helping them to tips hoping customers won't check their cards. Just wow.
We went for the easter event and it was a joke $33 a person and you only get to find 4 eggs which may only have candy so we paid $33 for a mimosa and four pieces of candy, my son was so upset. There was no other entertainment and the egg decorating and cookie decorating cost extra. Not worth it at all!
We had a wonderful experience at the Carboy Tasting room! Barbie and James were both kind, knowledgeable and ultimately.... FUN! Highly recommend a stop in if you are in the area!
Had a great glass of Cabernet Franc!
I took my mom to Grand Valley because she was surprised to learn that Colorado produced wine. While I recognized Carboy from its restaurant locations in downtown Denver, I was hesitant to add their winery to our itinerary because it seemed "too commercial" in my initial perception...
Wow. I was wrong. The winemakers tour with Barbie changed my mind right off the bat. My mom drinks wine, but let's just say that she has a very economical taste. I told Barbie that we were new learners and she immediately matched my curiosity with guidance, helpful tips, obviously wine knowledge, and cool facts about the Grand Valley. She did not seem bored or tired of my endless questions, or annoyed by my mom's particular needs.
The tour itself was really neat too. We tried a bunch of wines (whites, rosé, reds, and bubbles) which were all very interesting and representative of the area. We learned about the grapes, the history of the area, and got to see the production line for bottling bubbles. Barbie took us around the vineyard and taught us a bunch about the propagation and management of the vines. We even tried some very ripe fruit straight from the vine (yum!). I loved learning about Carboy's approach to sustainability and renewal, as well as how they try to support the other winemakers and vineyards in the area.
Needless to say, Carboy was cool. I think Barbie really made the experience for me. I would absolutely come visit again, and I will! I feel more interested in the entire wine making (and appreciation) process now than ever. Thank you Carboy and Barbie!
PS, Carboy is very dog friendly -- more so than other vineyards in the area. They sell dog toys. Dogs are welcomed. I probably would have known this if I read the Google reviews ?
Hung out on a Sunday afternoon! Rick and awesome spot with some great wine! Ended up staying for 4 hours! Easy to lose track of time but means we’re having fun, right?
Great wine, beautiful view, and the ambiance is fantastic. The service on the other hand is pretty terrible. Only two ladies working on a busy Saturday afternoon, not only did it appear under staffed but the ladies felt like they were going out of their way to avoid us. Like I said the wine is great so I will return, but hopefully the service improves.
One of my fav winery’s in town and open until 7pm when most close at 5pm! Staff is great and the patio over looking the vineyard and mount Garfield are stunning! Also have a stage and I’ve seen live shows which is really vibey! I love their wine so delicious !!
This is the Best winery in the area. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wine is the perfect! Made by skilled hands with the best results, if you like dry wine and big bold reds as well as the local made sparkling wine with the perfect bubbles that dance on your tongue.
I am from oregon and love the wine made in oregon. If you like a northwest wine you'll love carboy!

I’ve never been to a winery where they charge you a corking fee to purchase their own wine! It will be our last time we come here when we can go to so many other great wineries with better wines in this area that do not charge an additional fee to drink their wine!
Upstairs deck looking over the vines. Frozen white wine and ? delicious!
Terrific wine, lovely & knowledgeable hostess. Bought 3 bottles to take to friends hosting me.
So, none of the wines we were offered here came from Palisade or even Colorado. They were from Washington State. This is basically a Washington wine bar in Palisade. The wines were ok; not great, but better than Maison La Belle Vie across the street. We did appreciate the AC on the hot day riding bikes.
To reply to the below, I would have loved to try them in June, but again, the tasting menu we were given only had Washington wines. Thanks for correcting the Washington versus Oregon mistake.
Only received 2 stars because the staff was friendly and helpful. The wines, however, were among our least favorites in the area. There are too many options to have below quality wines. For a tasting of 5 wines, it was $15. They clearly list the price of bottles on the menu for to-go, and if you want to drink it there. If you buy 2 bottles of wine, which we definitely didn't, the tasting fee would have been waived.
