We visited Palisade Brewery on a Sunday and had a mixed experience. Our beer flight included the Forbidden Beet, High Desert, Laidback Blonde, and Dirty Hippie. The Forbidden Beet was earthy and unique, the High Desert was watery and underwhelming, but both the Blonde and Hippie were enjoyable.

The food was a highlight—$1 wing night was a great deal, and the mild buffalo wings were pretty good. The grain pretzel with beer cheese was absolutely massive and delicious—highly recommended! The mustard that came with it was incredibly spicy and flavorful, adding a perfect kick.

One charming feature was the wall of local amateur art. While the pieces are objectively sophomoric, it’s a wonderful touch that adds character. Supporting local artists, regardless of skill level, is always a strength. There’s even a playful nod to Maurizio Cattelan’s Comedian, with a candy cane duct-taped to the wall—a quirky and seasonally appropriate detail we appreciated.

Unfortunately, the ambiance fell short. The TVs were tuned to sports, and the music was turned off for football, which clashed with the laid-back brewery vibe we were hoping for. Overall, it’s a decent spot for beer, food, and a bit of whimsy, but the atmosphere could use some improvement.

Great local spot for beers and pub food. The beer cheese is absolutely divine! You get enough with one pretzel that it makes sense to add a second pretzel or use it on a sandwich. The philly was particularly hefty and delicious. Service was excellent 👍

Used to be cool but no longer has a giant hula hoop, only has one less than stellar hoop. Beers are great. Musics good but don’t start a conversation with the musicians. Would give 5 stars if they would replace the hoops.

Randomly stumbled on to this place and it exceeded expectations. BLT was fantastic and great beer selection.

We swung by post hiking Mt. Garfield and were in need for a burger and beer! Palisade BC fit the bill for what we were looking for.
Great beer list as well as food offerings. Plenty of outdoor seating. Friendly patrons, staff and prompt service.

Server was clearly under the influence, the bartenders were uncaring. Took 45 minutes to get my (overpriced as hell) sandwich. the rueben was overcooked and dry, and not enough sauce... I used to enjoy coming here but thanks to the incompetency with the staff, will not be coming here again.

A classic late night spot in Palisade

Beertenders over serve. The culture is not welcoming. Beers did not taste as described.

Seriously, pro tip, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They make money on their name and the fact they are on the Fruit and Wine Byway…they were completely OUT OF BEER…the staff could give too sheets. I ordered food and beer when zero customers were there, they brought my GF’s food, forgot mine. Then when I asked for a refund, they LIED to me and said it was an “appetizer thing”. I literally watched the bartender go back to the kitchen 3 times to tell them to make the simple [$17!] TRASH FRENCH DIP, I got an hour after I ordered. I was not offered a discount or given the refund I originally asked for 20 min before they actually brought my food. (I asked for a refund after waiting over a half hour and my GF was done eating, I was lied to, then “denied” the refund, and waited another 15-20 min for the food) There are so many awesome places in Palisade, don’t waste your money on a DINGY PIT. (we couldn’t even find the entrance!!)

This bar had the best band we heard over the course of the Peach Festival. Every beer they poured us was not what was ordered. On the second round when we finally asked them to make it right we were dealt with like a nuisance and asked to leave because the managing bartender did not have the hubris to admit none of the beers were labeled correctly. Instead he overwhelmingly made a scene about kicking us out. I would avoid, the beer was average but obviously not impressive. The fact that none of the bartenders or managers could tell the difference between an IPA, wheat, or sour is a big red flag. Richard the door man was amazing and a western slope treat.
