Flying Fork was a fantastic restaurant, delicious food and outdoor garden seating but currently is closed. The building is for rent.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Italian favorites are well prepared with fresh ingredients. Service attentive and knowledgeable. Cozy, home-like setting. Located in a community with an artistic bent, surrounded by agriculture,

Thank God this restaurant is in Paonia. What a nice gathering place to share a good meal and drinks with friends and family. The backyard patio is the best spot. Who wouldn't want to dine under trees laden with fruit and twinkling strings of lights? Thank you, chef/owner Kelly, for working so hard to give Paonia a place to have dinner out. There's also a small cocktail bar with a great bartender!

Delicious find in Paonia… we had the Burrata, Spinaci salad, pasta primavera and short ribs. Jen was our sweet wonderful waitress and the entire staff was excellent. We will be back anytime our travels bring us this way (after a day wine tasting at the Black Bridge or Azura… exploring Kebler Pass and the beautiful aspens and ferns).

Cozy, fancy (for the area) restaurant, with gluten free options, despite being Italian cuisine, and a decent cocktail selection. Service was slow and mediocre, which would be my only gripe, but otherwise was a very pleasant experience, fresh food, and a delicious GF dessert torte. One of the only places open until 9pm in this sleepy town, and probably the only "fancy" bar if that's what you are looking for.

My wife and I dined here on a Thursday night. The place was very busy. It took awhile to get our drink order but everything else was fine. Food was excellent. Not too many choices in town so this is among the best.

Our experience at Flying Fork made me proud to be an American. Because only in America could we spend a day hiking in and out of a gorgeous canyon (Black Canyon of the Gunnison, SOB Draw trail) and then, in a tiny little Colorado town, find the best Italian style pizza we've ever had. And we've been to Florence. We ordered an app sized portion of the Ravioli as an appetizer, which was delicious. Then we had the Pesto pizza and the Porcini pizza the aforementioned best Italian pizza we've ever had. Crispy all the way through, amazing fresh ingredients, and parmesan cheese baked into the crust.Next time we'll probably swap the Ravioli for a Tiramisu dessert and we'll specify that we want an outside table for our reservation. Only downside was we were sorta shoved into a weird corner table and gazed longingly at the beautiful outside terrance tables. But again, the best Italian style pizza we've ever had.

I have gone here numerous times and sat in the bar trying to get service for over 30 min. They refuse to make eye contact or acknowledge/serve my party. There will be other people dining in the area( who aren’t getting the best service either) but no more than 2 parties. It’s unreasonable. If it weren’t for the fact there’s no other food, I wouldn’t dine here. Please consider having a talk with your staff.

We came on a Sunday evening. We ordered 2 pizzas. Sat outside in the garden/patio. Beautiful. Service is excellent food exceptional. The best pizza outside (and some inside) Italy I ever had. And I visit Italy about 15 times a year. This food is so awesomely good, home made and no artificial stuff in it. Just the real taste. Together with the great atmosphere and excellent service this is the place to go. The other dishes looked exceptional as well, but we had to depart the other day so we could not go back unfortunately. This is a true (hidden) gem in this remote place in Colorado.

Awesome food in a very cute town. I took my girlfriend out for her 30th. The staff was very kind, the prices very reasonable and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend the chicken piccata. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in Paonia

Nice patio, decent desserts. There was a little mix-up with the orders so I can understand where the other reviews are coming from, though I would suggest if anything were to happen you ask someone instead of wallowing in anger for an hour like the other reviewer.

The food was OK the service was very very slow. We asked if we could be moved to a table for 4 because our friends decided to join us and they said it wasn't available because it was reserved we watched and overnight we watched an over an hour went by and nobody was ever seated.

We waited an hour for a glass of wine and a beer, a second beer was purchased but never showed up. There were maybe 30 people in there. We paid an outrageous price for the most "okayest" meal we've ever had. Bland food and poor service.
