We went to for lunch for my sister’s birthday. I was not impressed but everyone else said theirs was good. I had two asada tacos and they were so incredibly dry and, I thought, very tasteless. It’s a tiny shop, no wifi so figure out your parking before going in and no restrooms. There are a couple public ones across the way. The Winter Park base has grown so much and it’s cool that there are restaurants to choose from but personally, I won’t go back to this one🤷♀️

Place was highly reviewed on Google so had some high hopes coming in.
Those hopes were soon crushed. We ordered the birria ramen, carne asada taco, burrito, and mulita.
Everything was bland - the ramen looked like it was from a packet. The tortillas not heated and meat dumped on top. There was zero flavor in any of the ingredients used in all of the food. The best thing was probably the refried beans from a can in the burrito. The all the salsas were lacking flavor.
The interior was nice enough and the staff were kind but not worth the price for quality.
Perhaps being a native of California perhaps I expected too much. Dare I say you’re better off at Chipotle?

On Christmas Day, after a fun day of skiing, my family stopped by Mexicali Taco Co. for a quick bite. My husband, who has Type 1 diabetes, was experiencing a blood sugar drop and was trending low. In order to manage his condition, he brought a small snack and drink into the restaurant while the rest of our family ordered and PAID for food. We were shocked when your staff approached him and insisted he leave because of a “no outside food or drink” policy.
When my husband explained that he’s diabetic, showed his insulin pump, and mentioned he was actively managing a medical situation, your staff refused to make an exception. They insisted that he leave, completely disregarding federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which explicitly protects individuals with diabetes. The ADA allows people with diabetes to bring necessary food or drink into public spaces to manage their condition, making your policy both inappropriate and discriminatory.
As someone who has lived with diabetes since he was 12 years old, my husband has never faced such treatment, and it was deeply upsetting to see your staff refuse him this basic right. To the owners of Mexicali Taco Co.: I urge you to better educate your staff on ADA compliance and ensure no one else has to experience this kind of discrimination. To others with disabilities, or those with loved ones who have them, I strongly suggest you avoid this establishment and eat somewhere else.

After we paid for 2 mediocre meals, my brother in law joined us at the end. He is diabetic and his blood sugar was low so he had brought a sugary snack in with him. He was asked to leave after he ate a bite of said snack. They had no regard to the fact he has a medical condition and is federally protected by ADA. We will never eat here again, and if you have any medical condition just now they are not inclusive or respecting to it at all.

Well I've found a new contender for the best Tortas on planet earth.
I have had the Tortas here twice about 4 months apart. Absolutely perfect, fresh veggies, excellent salsa bar options, the telera rolls are the perfect softness without getting soggy, the sandwich is large and filled with plenty of carne asada, onions, tomatoes, guacamole, good ratio of gooey and crispy cheese.
I like to have this torta with their pickled Jalapenos, Salsa Verde Serrano, and Salsa de Arbol y Morita
If you saw my review for Taqueria Los Comales in FoCo, this place checks all the same boxes and isn't that much more expensive despite being right in Winter Park Village.

Nice staff. Good was great. Prices are very reasonable compared to other eateries in Winter Park. I had a breakfast burrito in the morning and came back for lunch and had a vampiro. Both were excellent and reasonably priced for the resort. This is my new go to when visiting Trestle/Winter Park.

your prices are ridiculous! street greasy tacos $5.00 each ! not even homemade tortilla ! really?? more expensive than Vail ! It make me feel to not come back !! flavor is normal, tortilla is small in greasy in case you want to know and ask to dipping into the grease ! not coming back !
