I had a chance to experience to dine in to this quaint restaurant in the heart of the old downtown in Pueblo, Colorado. The food was good but I was extremely disappointed with the service I have received. The servers didn’t even make an effort to check on me if I needed more water or if I would like to order more food. For some strange reason the server with a diaphanous cleft lip was visibly annoyed when I placed my first order. Suddenly I’m starting to wonder whether I made the right choice to come and dine there. I don’t like feeling that way. I thought her behavior was very rude. It utterly ruined my day. I couldn’t believe what I was experiencing at that moment. It felt like it was straight from out of an awful racist movie. I should have left but I was craving to try their pasado and crab cakes. But despite of everything and the unpleasant ordeal, I had left a pretty generous tip, even though it didn’t commensurate with a good service. Despite feeling elated to visit this place, a sense of disappointment lingered after my experience.

This is the place in Pueblo to go for fine cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. The food is only outdone by the service. We had scallops for an appetizer that were so carefully cooked that they melt in your mouth. My wife had the strawberries and walnut salad with oh so tender medallions. I had the salmon and avocado salad. It was fabulous! We were also served bread with a very tasty and interesting butter. I'm sure that the rest of the menu is as high quality. The service was the only thing that topped the food. We felt like we were the only two in the restaurant. We had the key lime dessert. It was so good that we ordered another to take home and enjoy later. My complements to the chef and the staff!

My fiancé and I loved this restaurant. This place had become one of our faves because the food is just amazing! However the service is more than downhill. We got there, got seated. All was great. As we ordered though, our server kept coming and taking things from our table, like just grabbing decorations from the table and taking them away. It was odd and very rude. We ordered a bottle of wine, and had to keep waving her down to get some of it. For some reason we got the side eye rather then a yes I’m sorry .. or something appropriate. It was very clear she did not want to be there. We both ordered the triple play. She came over once to ask how we were, but only because we had called her over for the second time to get a top off on our wine. Still fine. We got up to use the bathroom, Not being finished with our plates or asked if we needed a to go box or anything. When we got back she had our table completely cleared. I have never been treated this way in such a “fancy establishment”. We were traveling over the weekend, and for some reason had absolutely no service when we got to the restaurant. So we couldn’t get an Uber to take us back to our Airbnb. We asked our server if we could jump onto their wifi or use the phone. The girl told us no, that we could try walking around for service, so we stepped outside to get service and our server locked the door behind us. We were now locked out of the restaurant and stranded. I wanted to cry. She acted so entitled and rude, it was almost as if she was the daughter of the owner or someone related. She was so rude and smug with us. She did not care about us, our experience, or her job. Unfortunately, she robbed herself from getting a very good tip, and from being a good person as well. As good as the food is, the service trumped it. We will never go back. As a young couple we thrive to help others and just be good to others. It was sad to see this behavior in such a young girl. Disappointment to the max. Our server had on a pink dress on and a ponytail. (Message to our server.. please do better. We’ll be praying for you)!

One of us had the beef tenderloin with a delicious sauce of cream, Brandy, mushroom and garlic. The potatoes were a wonderful foil for the richness of the sauce. And the other one of us had the halibut special with a creamy risotto and sauteed vegetables. The Old Bay butter topping, and the tenderness and sweetness of the halibut were excellent. We finished off with the strawberry rhubarb pie, with just the right balance of sweet, tart, and savory. All a delight!

So just stops reading the reviews and go here! Note: the picture of our entrees are a half portion. They split them for us in the back. I live near Dallas Texas and Texas is known for BBQ and steak. I have tried just about every top ranked steak house there. This place beats everyone! My friend had the lobster, and often travels to Boston for work. Their lobster beats all the lobster she’s had in Boston, too. Nothing was done in a “special” way. It was just executed perfectly and let the quality of the food and chef speak for itself. The crab cakes were also amazing. All 4 of us said this was one of our top favorite restaurants anywhere.
