Truthfully, not much to like here. Had a well below average experience here with my wife.Firstly, when we arrived, we could smell a STRONG sewage smell from the curb. We had a great deal of empathy for the poor girl working that night. Surely, she was entitled to compensation for her exposure to the toxic fumes.Upon entering, it was noticeably dead. Perhaps the only inviting spot in the corner (black couch?) had a mysterious laptop charging on it. Whose was it? Not sure. It remained untouched for the duration of our visit. The live music vibe was attempted, but not cutting it with a crowd of 2. And again, there was the strong sewage smell that was raining on the live music parade. Even if we wanted to stay and listen, it felt an impossible task.We IMMEDIATELY knew we’d need to opt for outside seating to avoid the smell. After quite some time, the waitress made her way over and asked us what we’d like—however, we’d yet to even see a menu. One was not visible and she acted surprised that we weren’t ready. Upon viewing the menu, it was notably limited—especially for a wine bar. When the options are *essentially* “red or white”, you’re no wine bar.Maybe my standards are too high, but I grew up in a much smaller town than Pueblo and our wine bar’s selection was amazing. Back home, the charcuteries were fantastic. The “vibes” were impeccable. The establishment was always clean. The staff was knowledgeable.Even being generous, I could not say the same about Wine Down By The River. After finally escaping the sewage cloud, we had a decent enough experience on the deck out front. The patio furniture was dirty, rusty, and covered in bird p**** . . but hey. . . it was better than inside. My wine was nothing special and my wife’s sangria was definitely among her least favorite sangrias she has ever had.Sadly, will not be returning as frequenters to this area.Best of the luck to the establishment, but it needs some serious work. So much potential in this space they’re lucky to have.

Down for the chili fest. Street taco meet was cold and 8 dollar beers were warm. Think they got it backwards. DJ was great!!!

Rachel was very knowledgeable of the area, and helpful in recommending a place for dinner and about the other business, since we were looking for more than tapas for this night.
