As a local, I have loved Kate’s for several years. However, I do NOT like the recent changes. The beloved home fries are gone and replaced with frozen diced potatoes- very disappointing. You can’t upgrade your bread option to a pancake anymore, either.

Such a fun mountain restaurant! Highly recommend whatever the chef’s special might be. Today it was stacked enchiladas topped with eggs, with a very tasty green chili… the chef’s version of a hangover breakfast, haha. You’ll love whatever you get here!

Can't give Kate's any less than 5 stars all round as it's a fantastic American breakfast experience, and all home cooked. We had to wait, but they have a waiting list system which worked well .... and it's well worth the wait! Most of us had the Sneffel skillet, which was amazing. By all accounts the pancakes are great too. Hot chocolate to die for! Lovely staff and a bright and cheerful atmosphere make this a top spot in Ridgway. Keep up the great work!
Great find for breakfast on our way from Silverton to Montrose. Very friendly and accommodating. Outside seating available. Veggie burrito and the bfast skillet were both very hearty and very flavorful.
Best breakfast we had on our trip! I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was nothing short of spectacular! My wife lived her Monte Cristo too!

Cute-ish atmosphere. Anything notable ends there. The service was horrendous, my order literally tasted like puke. Nasty, flies everywhere. Server never checked in and when they brought the check I mentioned I didn't like it at all... he stared at me and and forced the check into my hand. It's one thing to not like the food, it happens, I accept that but really disappointed. Probably just assumed they'd never see me again, which is sad.
