“Used to go to True Grit. Food & service left a lot to be desired, & we got charged extra for side dishes that were supposed to come with the meal. Even with a 25% military discount, it's not worth it anymore. Now, along comes The Lazy Dog Saloon who saved my day of ravenous hunger with their delicious foods. Drove from Cedaredge to Ridgway looking for a good meal. Here it was! Succulent, cooked med. rare sirloin with honey sweet baked beans topped with crispy bacon. & loaded mashed potatoes with crisp bacon bits & cheese. I will certainly be eating there everyday while we are camped there for the July 4th holiday.”

“Had a great dinner as we returned from a day in Telluride. Our teenaged boys shared a meat lovers pizza. Hubby and I ordered salads and the cheese garlic bread. The cheesy bread was as big a a pizza! Very good, crust cooked perfectly. Salads were made with very fresh ingredients. The pizza was burned on the outer crust and the bottom of the pizza was a little soft. I give 5 stars for the cheesy bread and salads and 3+~4 for the pizza. Take a look at the photos--looks more like a pepperoni pizza than a meat lovers pizza. Great atmosphere, friendly service.”

“As a local, I have loved Kate’s for several years. However, I do NOT like the recent changes. The beloved home fries are gone and replaced with frozen diced potatoes- very disappointing. You can’t upgrade your bread option to a pancake anymore, either.”

“Amazing homemade ice cream and great iced coffee. The ice cubes were coffee, which I really appreciated and as an ice cream maker i was impressed my the mix of creative and classic flavors. Try the cinnamon cayenne honey if you can. My dog loved the pup cup. They open early and close at 4, so have ice cream for breakfast and live a little.”

“Small family run bakery & cafe off Main Street in one of the older building. We stopped in for lunch after hiking into Box Canyon. We ordered the turkey salad with cranberries on wheat and the Italian on a hoagie. The meat was warmed and cheese melted. We picked up a baguette to go for back in camp.”
