waitress, chef, and bartender were all incredibly rude and lacked customer service to my table of 3, when we were the only ones in the resteraunt. They must have ran everyone out. Bartender immediately flipped out on my friend when she said she didn't like the wine because she "opened" a fresh bottle. Waitress wasn't paying any attention the whole time and avoiding doing her job nor knowing the menu and giving us an attitude. Chef freaked out on me when I was confused why my bacon was completely raw around the paté looking edible to a cat. We're never going there again when we we were anxious the whole time.

So much flavor. Shared dishes around the table as they came out and had a really enjoyable dinner.

Very disappointing in all aspects, especially considering the great reviews. Below average food, mediocre presentation and horrendous service. Wanted to love that place, so disappointing. Hope it was a bad night maybe???

I don’t normally leave bad reviews but…..we had a half ok meal and atrocious service at this place. We literally felt like a nuisance to the staff. When we came in a very bothered and cold hostess seated us with zero warmth. I was super excited to try this place. After the meal I went in and waited to talk to someone after dinner and no one came so we left. We waited 15 minutes for a server to arrive and greet us which given the fact that they were no busy seemed like a very very long time. When the server finally came she seemed confused and offered no specials or information. The presentation of the food was really bad, we had checked out their instagram and it did not meet the presentation we saw at all. We felt super rushed, food came out quickly and was sort of thrown at us. The food tasted good, not spectacular. My drink a thyme and gin drink was very good.

At the end of the meal we waited and waited and waited. We wanted another drink but no one came to check in. When the server (a different one than the originala) finally arrived we tried to order dessert and were told the kitchen closed at 9 it was 9:01. I told him we came because of the desert menu. And he blurted out a lame sorry. We wanted the pot du crème which is a pre-made dessert so we were very perplexed. We were celebrating a birthday so it felt especially disappointing.

We would have appreciated a heads up or a check in which we got at no time during the meal. If we were warned us the kitchen was closing we could have ordered dessert. Having worked in restaurants for 18 years I have found that to be standard operating rules.

I get that restaurants have bad nights but this was a really bad experience.

Mediocre. Underwhelmed with our initial waiter. My husband asked him a question about a cocktail and he just said “I don’t know. I don’t really know the cocktail menu,” instead of going and asking the bartender. He never told us there were specials - after we ordered we heard a different waitress reciting them to a nearby table.
Food was Meh - the onion tarte was more of a deep dish egg thing - not quite a quiche - very eggy and not that many onions.
Baked avocado was ok - the elote slaw was mostly slaw and very little corn.
Vegetarian / mushroom baguette was all onions and no mushrooms. Tasted like very salty topping for French onion soup.
Our waitstaff switched after we ordered and the new waitress was very sweet and better than initial waiter but overall we were underwhelmed.

Very friendly service, excellent food and atmosphere. I had rib special which was delicious, my wife had gluten free French onion soup and was delighted. The pickled plate starter was also fabulous. I would definitely go back.

Dietary restrictions: The French onion soup w gluten free bread was delicious.

wow Wow WOW! The Fritz has definitely hit the spot for a place to dine! Every dish was better than perfection, I’m unable to express the delicacy here. My favorite was the Oklahoma Smash Burger(BEST BURGER EVER HANDS DOWN) and the Mac n Cheese(tasty blend of 4 cheeses)!!! I will definitely come back for more.
ps: the bartender serves great drinks

I am in Salida for a vacation with my family during summer. The Fritz was our choice of restaurant after a walk in downtown. The location is great with a clean park right next to it. We were so surprised with how good the food was because of the fusion between the States and the World. We had a chance to meet Chef Eric and he is so lovable. Always smiling with a happy energy!! Can’t wait to go back ?

Highly recommend the Fritz, the food is amazing and the cocktails are delicious. Our service was very attentive and the owner and head chef were amazing. We had the whipped feta, the hush puppies, the french onion soup, the bolognese, and the beef rib special. All of which was very very good!

What a great find! I was in Salida on a spur of the moment vacay so I didn't do much research on where to eat and drank. I was on the street corner Googling places to find a good burger. A lady came up to me and asked if I needed help finding sometning....I told her I wanted a good burger. She recommened The Fritz, and a few other spots in town. After doing a little research online I decided to pop into The Fritz because it was literally the 50 ft from where I was standing. I walked in to find the lady that recommended it was an employee there LOL. But what a great recommendation...I had the smashburger, which was excellent and exceeded my expectations (because Colorado in general has bland food everywhere, but this was good!), and a few cocktails. They even had Fernet Branca, which to me, is the mark of a bar that is SERIOUS about it's drinks. Nice interior, friendly bartenders, and great cocktails...highly recommended!

The truffle fries were underwhelming to the point that I wish I had just left after over paying for a cocktail, the 2-tops were so close to each other that the other guests made a joke about joking us for dinner and the jokes continued once they received a cocktail with so much ice that it actually shocked me. The limited menu looked interesting, but the price point was a little silly even for a mountain town. I wish I had looked at the reviews before going and seeing the owner’s responses to any criticism. This place just seems to miss the mark and it’s hard to support somewhere where the owner snaps at any review in such a childish manner. A pricey lesson learned.

They don’t know how to make a pisco sour or they forgot something when they made mine, because it wasn’t good. I know the drink well since I first discovered it traveling in South America, where it’s from, have had it many times, and have also made them at home. Theirs wasn’t sweet at all and lacked flavor… it’s a relatively simple drink so surprising to have it made incorrectly. Sad because it’s tough to find on a menu in the states, so I was excited and then very disappointed. ? The service was ok, but the staff seemed tense, possibly because the person taking orders at the bar was new and needed help with everything, but I think more likely due to management as is typically the case in that situation. (Would be better to at least train them for a few hours on taking orders.) A guy who I believe must be the owner was also behind the bar, and he seemed pompous, speaking condescendingly to the staff and other customers alike. The person who took my order asked me a few times if I was doing ok, but no one asked how my food or drink was. When my salad came, they brought a steak knife (?) but no silverware, so I had to wait until someone noticed, and they’re not very attentive. They were much more concerned about cleaning glassware than tending to customers. The Fritz salad is pretty small considering the cost, like the size of a side salad, which is a bit silly since lettuce is inexpensive. Some of the lettuce was also bad, which is unacceptable at a place with “nice restaurant” kind of prices. The ahi tuna I added was also somewhat shredded, leading me to think it was either low quality or improperly prepared. They also only have one salad dressing. Not a place I feel the need to go back to.

Really disappointing. Chicken underdone, dry burgers, French onion with no flavor. I heard great things, but we will most likely not be back.
