Very nice folks. Average price breakfast and lunch, Good adequate hometown food, but I didn't find anything earth shaking
The dining experience was great sad to hear they were going to be closing so glad to have been served
Can't speak to other items on the menu, but the blueberry pancakes were very thick with whole blueberries! Just slightly dry for my taste, but the flavor was good.I think what I liked most about this place was the warm ambiance with wood all around. Wood stove heater at the entrance. The bar even had very old cash register (just for decor). Staff seemed nice.
We have been going to Brown Bear Cafe for about 20 years. We drive over Red Mountain Pass to get there. We have had excellent service and food all the time. We will miss Patty and Fred but hope they have an awesome retirement.
We ate here because nothing else was open, but it ended up being great! We had 9 of us so we ate a little of everything...all good! They happily accommodated our 3 tweens at a separate table and service was outstanding. It was a nice warm place out of the cold and we enjoyed it very much.
Excellent flame grilled burgers here that really left a great impression! Grateful! Waitress was great and we had a seat right next to the wood stove! I'll be thinking about this burger for a long time... Until I come get another one!
Fred and Patti never let me down. We have been going to the Brown for over 22 years. My french toast was great again. Fred even made it extra special for me. My tummy left very happy.
I loved the historic feel of the place, there was so much to look at. We ordered wings for an appetizer they were crunchy and the sauce on them was the perfect spice. The chicken sandwich was delicious the lettuce and tomatoes gave it the crunch making it perfect!!! The patty melt on rye was cooked to a perfect medium rare. They put bacon melted between the cheese and they cut grilled onions into long stringy pieces. Definitely recommend planning a trip to Silverton to try their food out!
Always a delight. We stop in after the snowmobile tours. The hamburgers and soup are delicious. Limited dine-in for covid-19 but glad they are open. Google hours listed may be off. Give them a call
We ate here twice while in Silverton for a week; once for lunch, once for breakfast. Everything was great. My husband got the burger and it was the best he'd had in a while. I had chicken noodle soup and it was amazing. For breakfast, the corned beef hash and banana pancakes are a must. The service was great, everyone was friendly. Definitely worth the visit!

My family has been going to the Brown Bear for multiple years now. It has a wonderful menu with great tasting food and options. The staff and owners have created a lovely, caring, and family oriented atmosphere. An excellent place! Would fully recommend for any meal of the day.

Excellent breakfast, large selection, Fast and friendly service. Mining decor is on point.Real biscuits are rare out west and these are fkn great. Geaux Saints.
Horrible experience! French toast and pancakes are cooked with hash browns and everything else at the same time. Out French toast and pancake had peppers and hash brown cooked in around the edges. Not fun to eat French toast and get tangly bites of other food. When I asked about it the owner was horribly rude and said if you do t like it we don’t want people like you here. Wow never had such an experience at a restaurant. Will never give them a Lanny of my money again.
The best breakfast ever. The owners and staff is super friendly. They are hardly ever not busy. Eat here when we visit. I would definitely recommend them.
