This was a horrible experience. I showed up and got kicked out for being too poor. Will not be returning again. Do not go here if you don't look like you have money. The staff treated my friend and I like trash.

The food (the trout in particular!) was excellent, the service friendly and helpful (ty Teairra!) and all with beautiful scenery and a relaxed ambiance.
The wine list is also fairly extensive.

Sam’s restaurant is conveniently located at the top of the village express lift, offering a unique dining experience that is far from a quick bite. For those considering a visit, it is highly advisable to make a reservation in advance due to its popularity. Once seated, be prepared to spend at least an hour enjoying your meal, as the pace is more leisurely.

The service, while generally friendly, can be a bit on the slow side and occasionally confusing. This is primarily due to the high volume of customers in relation to the limited number of staff members available to serve them. Despite these challenges, the food at Sam's stands out as being of higher quality than the typical buffet-style restaurants that dot the mountain, albeit at a noticeably higher price point.

If you're in search of a quick lunch, this may not be the best option. However, if you’re looking to take a longer, more relaxing break, Sam’s offers a charming sit-down atmosphere complemented by stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It could be the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal if you have the time to spare.

Excellent. Organized Service, Breathtaking View, Fine Dining in Ski Boots. It was expensive but worth it. Ask for the Lamb Chops Special as an appetizer. Highly recommend the Arancini, Trout, and Warm Ricotta.

Perched atop the majestic Sam's lift in Snowmass Mountain, Sam's Knob isn't just a restaurant—it's a culinary adventure worth strapping on those ski boots for. As seasoned visitors, my crew and I make this ascent a mandatory pit stop every time we hit the slopes, and boy, does it never disappoint.Prepare your taste buds for a rollercoaster ride of flavor, courtesy of a menu that's as dynamic as the mountain itself. We embarked on our latest culinary journey with gusto, diving into an array of tantalizing dishes that left us swooning. The pesto prosciutto pizza was a slice of heaven, marrying fresh flavors with the perfect crispy crust. The chicken liver pate was a decadent delight, spreading smoothly over toasted bread like butter on a warm ski slope. And who could forget the chilled tiger shrimp diavolo, packing a spicy punch that warmed us from the inside out.But the surprises didn't stop there. The lamb burger was a juicy revelation, each bite bursting with savory goodness. And just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat another bite, the spumoni dessert beckoned with its promise of sweet satisfaction. Paired with a scoop of velvety lemon sorbet, it was the perfect ending to our mountain feast. And let's not forget about the service and ambiance, which were as stellar as ever. The staff is ensuring that every need was met with a smile. And as we dined, the breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks reminded us why we keep coming back to this mountain oasis.Oh, and did I mention the cherry on top? The dedicated locker room where you can bid adieu to your clunky ski boots and slip into provided slippers like Cinderella after the ball. It's the little luxuries like these that make dining at Sam's Knob feel like a true indulgence. So, whether you're craving a culinary escapade or just looking to refuel after a day on the slopes, Sam's Knob is the place to be. Just be warned: once you've experienced the magic of this mountain gem, you'll find it hard to dine anywhere else.Reservation is must.

Stopped by Sam's for a drink after a day of skiing. The restaurant is at the top of Sam's Knob in Snowmass and is absolutely georgous inside. I've been to a couple of fancy on mountain dining establishments where you need to take a lift, specifically at Vail, Keystone, & Beaver Creek and Sam's at Snowmass takes the cake for setting and decor without a doubt. We have not tried the food yet but plan to do so. This is a special place!

Sam's is definitely a local must-try for an on-mountain restaurant at Snowmass. Fine dining with stellar views and not too expensive pricing. Elevate your business meeting or treat your ski group to delicious house made bread and tasty dishes, the atmosphere matches you. One of the few places where you cannot go wrong with the menu choices. Would recommend a reservation! It's worth it.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are clearly labeled. However not many vegan options.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, dairy free and nut free options available. The kitchen accommodates allergies and is vigilant regarding cross contamination.

Kid-friendliness: Yes, but more of a fine dining restaurant. Not many traditional kid options

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, however ski-in ski-out location that is accessible only via main Village Express chairlift. (Or Sam's Knob lift if you're on the mountain as well)

Food is almost always cold. They pour the wine too quickly. Serve dessert before taking the plates away.
