This was a horrible experience. I showed up and got kicked out for being too poor. Will not be returning again. Do not go here if you don't look like you have money. The staff treated my friend and I like trash.

The food (the trout in particular!) was excellent, the service friendly and helpful (ty Teairra!) and all with beautiful scenery and a relaxed ambiance.
The wine list is also fairly extensive.

Once seated, be prepared to spend at least an hour enjoying your meal, as the pace is more leisurely.

The service, while generally friendly, can be a bit on the slow side and occasionally confusing. This is primarily due to the high volume of customers in relation to the limited number of staff members available to serve them. Despite these challenges, the food at Sam's stands out as being of higher quality than the typical buffet-style restaurants that dot the mountain, albeit at a noticeably higher price point.

If you're in search of a quick lunch, this may not be the best option. However, if you’re looking to take a longer, more relaxing break, Sam’s offers a charming sit-down atmosphere complemented by stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It could be the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal if you have the time to spare.

Excellent. Organized Service, Breathtaking View, Fine Dining in Ski Boots. It was expensive but worth it. Ask for the Lamb Chops Special as an appetizer. Highly recommend the Arancini, Trout, and Warm Ricotta.

We embarked on our latest culinary journey with gusto, diving into an array of tantalizing dishes that left us swooning. The pesto prosciutto pizza was a slice of heaven, marrying fresh flavors with the perfect crispy crust. The chicken liver pate was a decadent delight, spreading smoothly over toasted bread like butter on a warm ski slope. And who could forget the chilled tiger shrimp diavolo, packing a spicy punch that warmed us from the inside out.But the surprises didn't stop there. Stopped by Sam's for a drink after a day of skiing. The restaurant is at the top of Sam's Knob in Snowmass and is absolutely georgous inside. I've been to a couple of fancy on mountain dining establishments where you need to take a lift, specifically at Vail, Keystone, & Beaver Creek and Sam's at Snowmass takes the cake for setting and decor without a doubt. We have not tried the food yet but plan to do so. This is a special place!

Sam's is definitely a local must-try for an on-mountain restaurant at Snowmass. Fine dining with stellar views and not too expensive pricing. Elevate your business meeting or treat your ski group to delicious house made bread and tasty dishes, the atmosphere matches you. One of the few places where you cannot go wrong with the menu choices. Would recommend a reservation! It's worth it.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, dairy free and nut free options available. The kitchen accommodates allergies and is vigilant regarding cross contamination.

Kid-friendliness: Yes, but more of a fine dining restaurant. Not many traditional kid options

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, however ski-in ski-out location that is accessible only via main Village Express chairlift. (Or Sam's Knob lift if you're on the mountain as well)
