We throughly enjoyed our dining experience with you all! Food was yummy, service was spot on and location was unbelievable. Thank you!
Tatum was a fantastic, detail oriented server. We enjoyed lunch options ( get the duck definitely) and then the teenagers ordered more from the happy hour menu. Everyone needs two entres, right? The ceviche was very large and delicious. We'd go back again, and will Do so when we can return in a couple of months. Looking forward to it!
My husband and I were attending a wedding in Steamboat Springs and had an evening off. So, we went to the E3 Chophouse and loved the atmosphere! They had the roll-up doors open out to the patio where we could see the Yampa River from our table inside. The menu is unique and inventive and the food was delicious...every bite! The wait staff was attentive and very personable. Only downside was that, since it's a large restaurant, we may have been there during the high tourist season because we had a bit of a wait to receive our dinner, but our waitress brought us a complimentary bread platter to apologize for the wait. We didn't mind though because we had our wine and lovely setting there. The tab was a bit on the higher side of cost but we like to treat ourselves to a high end dinner every once in a while. Definitely recommend.
We went there for our anniversary dinner. We had a sitter for two hours. Ordered food right away. Waited for over an hour and nothing. When we asked our waitress if the food was coming, she told us it would be another 20-30 minutes, because the kitchen was too busy. They only had about 20% of the tables occupied. They don't do take out either, so why is the kitchen so busy? It would be better to say that they didn't have enough workers show up. That we could understand. The fact that they're trying to make excuses was disappointing, so we left.
We arrived at 6pm. We sat for 20 minutes being ignored. We finally asked a waiter if he was our waiter. The restaurant was not crowded. Our time there was 6pm to 9pm. Tables that came in after us were served and left before we were even served our entrée. . I would have left had it not been my friend's birthday dinner.
The bacon wrapped dates were yummy. My Chilean sea bass, w squid ink noodles on a butternut squash puree was superb. My husbands prime rib was perfect. Note that the baked potatoes are huge! Dessert of crème brûlée w fruit ( we asked that they not put the powdered sugar on top) was the best and consistent w how it is served in France. Service was attentive w good recommendations. River sounds were magical. Coming back.
I do not understand why this place is so popular. I thought it was only “fair”, and that may be charitable at that. First, we each ordered the lobster bisque. We are from Boston where they know how to make it. When it came, no spoons were provided. The guy who brought it out said he would bring spoons but 15 minutes later, nada. My wife finally flagged someone down who brought us spoons. At that point, I told our server that mine had to be reheated. My wife was very hungry after not eating all day and she only had a few spoonfuls of her lukewarm soup and that was it for her. I had the KC bone-in strip steak and the peppercorn Demi. The steak was very thin and pretty tough. No way was this a USDA Prime cut and perhaps not even USDA Choice. It looked like it had been pounded thin to tenderize it. It did not cut easily, as if my steak knife was very dull, I had to lean on the knife with each stroke to cut each bite off. But it did come rare as requested; at least they got that right. I ate about half of the steak and brought the rest home for the dog to enjoy. My wife got the Chilean sea bass which, again, was only fair. She did not finish it. We ordered two bottles of wine but were left to refill our own glasses. The water service was competent, keeping our water glasses full, so that was a positive. But there was no bottled water offered. We did not stay for dessert after this. Finally, the ambient noise level was so loud that I could barely hear our server, even when she was shouting. A romantic dinner it was not! My wife and I barely spoke, as we are averse to shouting at each other, which is what it took to be heard over all the other noise. As for value, with a 20% tip and no dessert but with two bottles of Pinot Grigio priced at $55, we dropped $450 for a really disappointing experience There was absolutely nothing about this place that would merit more than two stars. I will not go back and I do not recommend this place at all.
Disappointed at E3. Food and service was mediocre at best. Steaks were over cooked (after waiting a while) and service was not up to snuff for the price point.
Salmon came out lukewarm, not hot. Filet was not cooked to request. They debated with us which is not what you want to have to deal with. They redid it and it came out much later and rate, also not as requested. So, not pleased with the protein side of equation. For the price, which is high, they need to nail it...which they didn't by a wide margin.
I've never felt ripped off at a restaurant until I ate at E3. They have a lovely spot right on the river which is nice. But everything falls a part from there. They don't have a kids menu but we were told that they can do “kids portions”. However what we received (and was reflected in the bill) was actual entrees and sides. My son ordered Mac and cheese and got the entire side ($21!!!). You clearly have noodles and cheese yet couldn't do a lesser amount? My daughter ordered steak and we were informed we had to order from the menu.... Again not sure why we can't just butcher a smaller amount? The waitress wasn't clear in this and felt really slimy, almost like we'd been tricked into this for a better/larger tip. She seemed annoyed we even had kids. I'd go back for drinks... and that's about it. This is the 2nd time we've eaten here and previously they were more accommodating with kids. I will NOT be eating here again. I get kitchens have to be efficient but if you own the whole cattle to table process.. can't you take a lesser cut and create a Kids version? Too many other great options in steamboat to be price gouged for a better tip here!

The steak was cold and not a premier cut for the price. The service was slow and inattentive.
E3 Steamboat is a true gem. The menu is creative and delicious, with something for everyone, and the wine list is top-notch. The setting is absolutely beautiful—right along the river, with a relaxed yet elevated vibe. A perfect spot for a special night out or just enjoying great food in an unforgettable setting.
We have been coming here for 4 years and this time we came the food and quality has just dropped I think it was over priced and I could have had a better steak dinner from Texas Roadhouse
Best restaurant in Steamboat. It's up there in price but the value is far superior to any other. We had the Bison, Elk and Gouda Mac. All were amazing! For desert went with the carrot cake which could feed the family. We sat outside right next to the river for a beautiful setting and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended!
Consistently wonderful meal! The beef carpaccio is so good and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. Great service as well every time! I am a local and it is our go to for celebrations and anytime we have guests in town.
