This is a great dive bar, and I love the laid back atmosphere and sitting next to the yampa. However, the last three times I went there beers weren't cold. Food is mediocre, then again it's a dive bar so you shouldn't expect much.
All in all, 5 stars for atmosphere and nice staff, but even a dive bar should be able to serve cold beers, this the 3 stars overall.

This place is horrendous. My girlfriend and I are in town visiting with her service dog, and we’re kicked out of this establishment because of their no dog policy. I hope they realize the legal action that can be taken for denying service animals. Absolutely disgusting treatment.

Sunpie's is very laid back and the staff was very friendly. They have plenty of outdoor seating with the Yampa river as the backdrop. Even if you don't have a table right on the riverbank the sound is still quite pleasant. I liked the "seat yourself" order at the bar style of service. One thing to note however is that it will take a long time to get your order out. The menu said something like "if you've waited more than 15 minutes for your food, wait another 15 minutes". They were true to that and then some. I respect the fact that they tell you that up front. I ordered a Shrimp Po-Boy. It was ok. I will say, they put a ton of shrimp on it so I appreciated that. For a family of 4 we paid $71.00 and we drank water to save a bit of money.

It is not a bistro, totally misleading. Just a casual dive bar, no actual service, you have to order everything at the counter no matter the size of your group. Not a group spot. Maybe a spot to have a couple of beers by the river with friends but thats it. Food was “ok”… no cajun sauces if youre looking for that. Mainly fried food options. Remember no service, no matter the size of your group. Prices were “ok” as well.
