Excellent options reminiscent of some of the best places in CA and NY.

Came for the sushi, stayed for the food poisoning. Service was so slow I thought they were aging the fish at the table. If you’re into mystery illnesses and being ignored, this place is a must. Otherwise, maybe pass.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tahk Omakase Sushi in Steamboat Springs, and I can confidently say it deserves a glowing 5-star review! From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional. The ambiance was warm and inviting, but what truly stole the show was the food. The sushi was incredibly fresh—each bite was a testament to the quality and care put into sourcing the ingredients.
One standout moment was trying the cherry trout, a specialty from Japan that I’d never had before. It was an absolute delight—delicate, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The chef’s expertise shone through in every dish, making it clear why this place is a gem. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the stars! The night sky in Steamboat Springs was breathtaking, and somehow, it made the whole dining experience feel even more magical. If you’re looking for top-tier sushi and a memorable evening, Tahk Omakase is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Outstanding service!
Food was unbelievably tender, tasty, and well-portioned.
The samurai nigiri was memorably delicious.
Sale selection was excellent and the waitress gave great recommendations.
The atmosphere and decor were extremely relaxing, and the unconventional seating was very comfortable.

Awesome ambiance, staff and food.

The chef is very rude and obnoxious. The sushi is decent, but not worth the price. If you want Asian flavor, Sumatera Thai is so much better.

I eat here everyday that I can.
Closest style next to Tokyo.

We had a delicious dinner at Tahk Omakase. We had the shishito peppers, edamame and the carpaccio special to start. We tend to go with the recommendation of the server and let the chef choose - so we had the salmon belly nigiri and the California Uni. The sashimi was excellent all really tasty and well prepared and presented. We will go back.

The fish quality was good but the sushi/sashimi portions were very small. The cocktails were awful and were sent back. The sushi slices were small and very very thin for the price. Felt like robbery

Hands down our favorite restaurant in Steamboat whether eating there for happy hour, stopping in for a medicinal bowl of miso or the phenomenal experience of dining omakase with Chef Tahk!

Prices are a bit high for what you get. We did the omakase, and the chef was amazing. The owner is probably one of the most pompous and rude individuals I have ever met. I will take my money elsewhere.

Very good sushi. You can ask for basic rolls like Cali roll, which is the only sushi my kiddo likes. High quality sashimi. Very good service. Upstairs had cool seating.

Amazingly good quality not only for a mountain town but anywhere. We really appreciated the waiter's recommendations and the special salmon carpaccio was amazing. Really cool space in an historical building.
