My husband and I frequently visit Trinidad from Texas and enjoy stopping in at the Marketplace Bar for a drink from time to time. We decided to visit this evening for after a long road trip and arrived around 8:30pm to find the doors locked up. We called earlier to double check closing time and were informed closing was at 10pm or later "depending on the crowd". The hours posted online corresponded with what we were told. When we arrived there were several people sitting at the bar (almost half the bar!) with drinks but both front and back doors were closed and locked so we could not get in. Unfortunately we could not get the attention of any employee to let us in so we were forced to go elsewhere. It is extremely disappointing to have attempted to plan ahead and to be met with locked doors. No wonder Trinidad continues to struggle with failing businesses. If this were a slow Wednesday or Thursday I could understand closing early. However, a Saturday night with 6 people still sitting in the bar? Do better Trinidad!

So, this Food Hall is a great place to stop for lunch when traveling on the I25. It has such a variety of vendors for everyone's taste. I had a stuffed baked potato that was scrumptious. I also got a Matcha Latte at Kangaroo Coffee, which was just as good as any Starbucks. It is a bit noisy. And there is only 1 bathroom for each gender. Not helpful for impatient travelers just coming off the road. It's right downtown in an old building, east side of the street, that doesn't really jump out at you, so look. There is a parking lot behind the building, as the streets are very narrow, with not a lot of parallel parking.

Love the concept but it was a challenge to get food or drinks. Vendors were either busy on their phones or not there. We were able to get food from burrito bowl after walking around and trying 2 other vendors. The price definitely does not match the flavor of the food, but i will say he was the only vendor who was attentive and offered to serve us asap (thank you). I ordered a carnitas bowl, maybe the altitude messed with my taste buds but it was definitely missing something flavor-wise for me. Husband ordered a steak burrito and he also said it needed more seasoning.
Parking: We found a parking spot no problem at lunch time and we were pulling a small camper (maybe that was our first red flag, doh!)
Kid-friendliness: Definitely a place you can take the family and find something for everyone (if vendors participate)
Wheelchair accessibility: There was a wheelchair ramp and the food court is spacious enough to accommodate someone in a wheelchair once inside

It's such a cool place to eat with a great variety of food vendors. When you have multiple people who can't decide on what to eat, then this is where you need to eat to satisfy almost anyone. Everything from Asian food, burgers, tacos, wings, coffee, and even an ice cream / frozen yogurt establishment. I will end up trying every food establishment in the Food Court the next time I visit Trinidad, Colorado. The ice cream at Lolly's was really good.
Parking: You may have to park a block or two down the street, but it is not a difficult walk.

Interesting concept, a food court not in a mall.

I love The Marketplace! Look for their rotating happy hour specials and hand crafted drinks. The employees are always great and have prompt service! They often feature fun events like game watching, theme nights, karaoke or djs. The vendors there have an amazing selection of foods to choose from.

My husband, kids and I had lunch inside the market place at The Wing stall and we were highly impressed with the food. All the wing flavors were really good and the fries were really thick and well seasoned. We also got homemade chips that were AMAZING!! I highly recommend this place. We come to Trinidad multiple times a year and we will be coming back. Highly recommended to any and all!
