We have visited Almresi restaurant several times in the past. It is our favorite restaurant in Vail. As soon as you walk in you feel like you just traveled across Atlantic and landed in Austrian alps. Friendly staff greets you at the door. Waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. Presentation of all dishes is outstanding and the taste is superb. Almresi is definitely a gem in Vail. We will keep coming back. And one small side note: please bring Kaiserschmarrn back to desert menu
was not a big fan of the beef tartare but appreciated the presentation and excellent bread. Good tomato soup. Excellent roesti. Very good Schnitzel. Pretty much all waiters spoke German, Would go again (tomorrow)!
Almresi never disappoints. It's a charming Austrian themed restaurant with great food, beautiful presentation and excellent service. We had a reservation for 8 ppl but ended up being a group of 11 and the staff were extremely accommodating in adding seats for us. We will definitely continue to frequent Almresi whenever in Vail.
We ordered the cheese and the beef fondue. The cheese was excellent, the beef fondue was presented in a way that wouldn't allow the broth to get hot enough to cook. 45 minutes of frustration
Our evening at Almresi was wonderful. From the baitiful athmoslhere to the service and food, we couldn't ask for more. The foods presentation was one of a kind and we we will be back!
Very nice atmosphere, old school slower but perfect for us. We have come here 8 or more times and nice every time. Austrian flair, good for young and old alike. Staff is very nice and food was good. We will be back !!!
Excellent Bavarian menu with some more innovative pasta and fish options. Restaurant is cozy with a modern Alpine flair. We dined near the end of the season, but there was no lag in service nor attention. The salmon pasta was light and summery and the schnitzel cooked to perfection, served with classic lingonberry jam.
Nothing was bad, but also nothing to write home about. I'd go if you can't find anything else but thought it was overpriced for a lackluster meal. The cheese fondue particularly left a lot to be desired, it didn't even come over a flame.
Thomas, our waiter, did a great job! The ambience was perfect, the food was wonderful, and the chef was able to cater to my vegetarian diet. Overall a great experience and we will be back many more times in the future.
Always such a unique dining experience! We come here once a year as our family dinner and it is always such a delight. This time there was live Austrian music, and they definitely made our night.

We liked the look of the place. Cozy and comfortable, with tables a bit too close. Your conversation is your neighbors. The short rib dinner was very good. Ample portion. Came with red cabbage (excellent) and spaetzle. The schnitzel was golden brown, BUT was quite chewy. It did not come with any vegetable, just spaetzle. For $38, that was not worth it. A nice touch was the slice of strudel that was complimentary for our anniversary. We ate on the early side and were surprised by the number of young children in the restaurant. All in all, I prefer their sister restaurant in town, the Alpenrose.

This is a Vail Valley gem. We have enjoyed our experience and the food whether we just stop for cocktails and appetizers or enjoy the full meal. The restaurant provides a very nice menu of traditional German fare, hearty and comforting. Wait staff is attentive and respectful. I am a big fan of pork and saurkraut and was not disappointed. Everyone in our group was happy with their meal. It is a great location for friends or family.
The broccoli soup was tasty, hot and a large portion. All the food came out fast and hot. The schnitzel was tasty but not very tender. The sauerkraut side was very good. The apple strudel and other desserts were delicious.
The ambiance is beautifully european alpine, the service was beyond good helping us address food issues before ordering. The food is delicious in generous servings. Simply a wonderful experience all around.
