The Alpenrose is a charming, fun, and tasty dining experience. From the food to the decor, the presentation balances being homey and yet elevated. The staff all seem to enjoy working together, and care about creating a welcoming experience. We went during off season and it was packed, so I recommend getting a reservation.
Loved everything about dining here, our waiter was super great, the food was amazing, and the whole place is beautifully decorated. Definitely our favorite place to eat in Vail. We were there at the tail end of the summer season but highly recommend the gondola experience if you get a chance!
Alpenrose is a gem in Vail. Prices are fair. Pork shank is huge and always juicy. Their German pretzels are great. Potato pancakes are the best. Good getman beers. Well trained waiters with great suggestions. One of my favorites.
Fabulous. The food and customer service was top notch. We will be back again again and again.
Delicious! The food and the ambiance were amazing. I highly recommend stopping here the next time you are in Vail.
This is an older Vail restaurant with great food and friendly service. I love the German food on the menu, and find it to be a more relaxing spot than most of the restaurants in Vail Village. It's a "must" for me each time I'm in town.
Service was great food delicious great menu... but... the spaetzle/beef soup was served at foundry temperatures and was sooooo hot it couldn't be eaten for a long while. Just way way too hot
A great alpine vibe. Service was polite and professional. Atmosphere was not loud at all and food presentation was on a nice schedule.
We had the veal and spaetzle as a main (split it). And the cheese fondu to start (with added veggies and dried fruit). Several drinks and a desert. All was very good and the service was attentive. The beer garden, where we ate, lacks some of the charm as the front of the house, but no complaints. Would come again!
Staff paid more attention for the big parties and ignored us. We had to hunt down server for everything and food was prepared incorrectly. Disappointed as in the past the experience was nicer.

Phenomenal! We came here almost by accident because the other places in the village didn’t have open reservations, and boy am I glad we did! Great cozy spot with very nice service and incredible food. We had the cheese fondue appetizer and the pork shank with a side of spatzle and it was amazing! I highly recommend checking this place out. We will be back for sure!

Super charming and inviting atmosphere. Service was excellent and everyone very friendly. Food is delicious, best schnitzel since I have been in Austria. Highly recommend!
great comfort food -true to Austrian food menu. the waiters were very helpful and the food was good. we were outside on the porch so noise level was not easy to rate. the appetizer pretzel was delicious as well as the cheeseballs. spaetzel was good and the gravy given with it gave it flavor. The coq au vin was the winner at our table with ocktoberfest pork coming in second.
The atmosphere was phenomenal! The decor, table settings, dishes and the way things were served were all absolutely perfect!
