Closed for dinner for 2021-2022 season.
It is expensive. It is worth every penny. The food is just amazing. It is a changing menu since it sourced by seasonal fare. Move from your taste comfort zone. You will not be disappointed. The food gets 5 stars by itself; however, the service makes it 6 stars. From the greeting at the gondola, to the snow cat ride up the rest of the way to the restaurant, to the coat check, all added positively to the experience. It simply wasn’t just dinner, but an experience. When you see the view, you’ll get it.
lOVE Game Creek! Sunday brunch is awesome. staff is friendly.
Stunning views, great staff and delicious food. Can’t be beat!
Do you like looking at dirty dishes after you are done eating (22 mins after one course)? Then go here. How about eating shoe leather? Then try the lamb. Or maybe espresso (with no crema) BEFORE dessert. Even after complaints, service did not improve. All in all, a miserable but very expensive dinner drawn out over more than 3 hours. There are many great restaurants in Vail. This is not one of them. But the view is great. I wish I could have gone for drinks only.
Had an amazing experience, the food and the service was unbelievable. Liz, Aly and Henry where some of the best servers I have ever had, along with all of the other staff as well.
the atmosphere is so special, beautiful views of mts and sunset. the food was delicious and the staff and service was excellent
Great atmosphere and great food.
We can’t recommend this unique Vail dining experience highly enough! We had always suspected that Game Creek was a “tourist” restaurant and had not made it a priority. Boy were we wrong! We made reservations a bIt in advance of our trip and fortunately we were able to dine here on our first night of vacation. We arrived at the Eagle Baun Gondola well ahead of our 8:30 reservation. There is a person that you check in with and receive a lush blanket for the gondola ride up. (We actually didn’t feel we needed it as the ride was only about 8 minutes and we weren’t too cold.) When we got to the top, our hotel had suggested getting drinks in the bar before hopping on the snow cat. Unfortunately the bar was full and we asked if there was a bar at Game Creek. The hostess texted to see if we could arrive early for a drink in the bar and we were invited up. As the previous guests were getting off the snowcat, one woman exclaimed, “Wow! You guys are in for such a treat!” And she was right! The snowcat ride was so fun and quite warm! After some photos we went inside and sat at the bar. Great selection of specialty drinks and wines by the glass and friendly, personable service! Our table was ready about 15 minutes early and we were seated at a lovely table, which had it been light outside, probably had a beautiful view! It was quiet and we were pleased we weren’t seated next to some of the larger, louder groups. We opted for the price fixe menu with the wine pairing. Such a great option. My husband and I tried different courses and it would have been a challenge to choose one bottle of wine to pair with all the great dishes. Each course was presented so uniquely and the taste . . . amazing! Having recently dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants in France, Game Creek is certainly on par with many of them! Our server Liz was top notch. Friendly and attentive, she explained each dish and answered any questions that we had. She checked back with us after we sampled each course to see what we thought. She explained each wine and how the sommelier spent time choosing that particular wine. Such a delightful addition to our great meal. The return ride in the snow cat and gondola was just simply a perfect ending to a romantic mountaintop experience!
Restaurantji Recommends
Tomar la góndola y el vehículo de nieve para llegar al restaurante fue una experiencia pero la comida fue definitivamente lo mejor, todo muy bien preparado con un gran balance de los ingredientes en cada platillo
We had a birthday dinner here on NYE and it was very expensive but totally worth it! The experience of taking the gondola up at night and then the snow cat ride to the restaurant was one of a kind. It was very well organized and our 8 year old birthday boy got to ride in the front of the cat with the very kind and interesting driver. The food was outstanding. We didn't do the tasting menu because the other options looked too good. All of the courses were delicious and between 4 of us we were able to sample pretty much everything that was on the menu. I highly recommend a dinner here if you are in Vail! Its very pricey but a once in a very unique experience and worth it!
Unforgettable Experience! From taking the gondola all the way up the mountain to riding the snow cat to the restaurant and arriving at this very cozy Mountain Challet with super friendly staff! Food is good but the experience is Amazing and Unique!
My family and I were blown away by the flavors, texture and presentation of the food. Steak with melt in your mouth. All in all probably the best service and food experience we’ve had in the Vail area. Not to be missed. No course failed, each was music to the palate. We took our youngish kids with who absolutely loved each course as well. Service was top!
It's been a few years since we last visited Game Creek. We now spend more time in the Beaver Creek area - not far from Vail but we find we don't get over there as often as we once did. When our youngest requested a return visit to Game Creek, I went ahead and booked a table. I'm so happy I did. Everything about this experience is wonderful. The ride of the gondola, wrapped in cozy blankets while enjoying views of the star-filled sky; the friendly cat driver who takes you to the restaurant itself; the warm greeting that awaits you when you check in - what a lovely way to begin your evening. The service is exceptional. We have two sons with allergies and all of the servers were careful to explain the ingredients of every dish. What was better than the service? The food. Amazing. Every dish we had was over-the-top delicious. We are a tough crowd to please, but all of us were so happy with the food. Not sure what to order? Trust your server, who is happy to recommend dishes. Our one complaint is it is just too much food. If possible, try to eat half of each serving and take the rest home for lunch or dinner the next day!
