We had an amazing dinner at Left Bank - the food never disappoints, the wine selection is amazing, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. A must if you are looking for a wonderful meal in Vail!
Most delicious crack of lamb! Always yummy escargot. Fun chat at the bar A perennial favorite
Superbe well prepared food, extensive and expensive wine list, attentive service. Our large family really enjoyed this meal.
This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. Absolutely outstanding. The lobster shrimp vol au vent is beyond. My wife's trout the best she's ever had.
The best place I've ever gone for dinner by a long shot, Chef Jean Michelle and his staff do an incredible job. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for the highest quality experience in all of Vail.
Left Bank Restaurant used to be the most enjoyable of the French restaurants in the Vail area. It was discreet, quiet, with a memorable menu and impeccable service. I have not been there in a few years. We had European friends in town who wanted to treat us to dinner, so we chose Left Bank. Clearly, the focus of the restaurant has changed. The lighting is now extremely modern (which is entertaining), but way too bright. The noise level meant that we frequently had to repeat ourselves in conversation. The wine list left our visitors aghast. Our friend: "I don't think I've ever seen a menu with $3000 bottles of wines ". Normally, we would order at least 2 bottles of wine, but instead we each had one glass and drank only teaspoon-fulls throughtout the meal. The service was adequate, but never a smile or a suggestion. They were all nice enough, but monotone answers that made me feel like they didn't want to be here. I don't think I saw any staff people over age 40-50, so maybe it's a generational difference in expectation. I thought fine dining meant that the plates were not cleared until after the entire table was finished, but ours were removed as soon as the individual set the fork down. Even at the coffee shop down the street, the server would say "May I remove the plate?", but not here. I will say that the food was outstanding. Our table had the artichoke appetizer (excellent, if skimpy), the french onion soup (described as good but not fantastic), short ribs (excellent) , salmon (great), bouillabaise (very good, but an odd plate/bowl that was difficult to access), and steak poivre (which was overcooked and sent back for a do-over). I enjoyed the meal, but I doubt I will be back.
Terrible expierence. Andy the manager is extremely dude. The food was mediocre and they charged for drinks we did not have and insistes we did.
Impeccable food Impeccable service Impeccable ambiance ...... EXCEPT ....... We were seated at a 2-top next to the window, wonderful view of the Gore Creek, HOWEVER, the heating vents right next to the table were blasting heat. I immediately asked the waiter to turn down the heat. However, after just 5-10 minute sitting at the table I began to feel overwhelmed by the heat and had to remove my shirt and sit there with just my colored T-shirt (great for Denny's, not very appropriate for The Left Bank). With the heat slightly reduced but still very uncomfortable, I stuffed part of the table cloth into the heat vent and used two cloth napkins to block the heat. By the time we finished our appetisers, the heat was under control and we were able to enjoy our fabulous meal. Will we come back? ABSOLUTELY. Will we sit at the table again? NO WAY
Everything about this restaurant was phenomenal. From the wine to the staff, all of it was executed with finesse

Fantastic as usual. Had a terrific wagyu Wellington special. We are still talking about it a week later..

Food was good. Service slow. The place is nice but after a lot of hours sitting here it’s not nice anymore. If you want to come consider that they will go harvest your food. Their serving portions are ridiculous they give you one tomato and one asparagus with a black avocado.

Very slow service. It honestly feels French in the worst way — everything takes forever. We arrived at 7:30 pm and didn't leave until 10:00 pm. They serve black avocado with one asparagus and call it high quality. I don't understand why it takes so long for such minimal plates. Not worth it. Would not recommend.
Excellent food, but extremely disappointing service. We were the first to arrive and the restaurant was empty for 30 minutes, yet we were rushed from the start and repeatedly told we only had 1.5 hours. Our server kept pressuring us to order quickly, even insisting on dessert decisions while we were still on appetizers. A $400 steak arrived not as ordered, and a fish dish we did not request was brought to the table. Overall, great cuisine overshadowed by intrusive, impatient, and pushy service — not what you expect at this price point.
Es muy buen restaurante, la comida exquisita como siempre, pero esta vez el servicio muy lento, esperamos mucho entre platos
Absolutely our favorite restaurant year after year in the Vail Valley. No one can beat their food, wine and desserts. What a treat. We can't go enough. It would be a shame to miss out on this magical experience.
