Great sushi but incredibly loud. Couldn't hear across the table. Overall atmosphere ok Very corporate. Not like the charming one in LA

First time at Matsuhisa. We were a little intimidated because the menu is extensive and unfamiliar, but our server helped us through with great suggestions. This is more of a shared experience than just ordering individual dinners. Everything was flavorful and delicious.

I was initially seated by a staff person at the sushi bar but one of the chefs there started to reprimand me about the need to clear the area. Even after I stated I understood and was not in a rush his stern tone continued. I then left and asked if I may sit at the regular bar and order food there. Once at the bar I had a very pleasant experience and was treated very cordially by the bartender.

My favorite sushi of anywhere I've ever been. They're always consistent, quality, taste, preparation. Everything is excellent. Always my first choice.

I'm not sure what it is about this place but we have a fantastic time every time we eat at Matsuhisa! The food is outstanding, the presentation is great and the service is top notch. They did not rush us and we ordered slow and shared a great bottle of sake and our waiter was there is pour our tiny sake glass every time it was close to empty. This is one of our fav's!! It doesn't disappoint.

One of the best dining experiences! The food presentation and quality were INCREDIBLE. The flow of every employee that stopped by made it evident that they are all in sync with each other!

Our waitstaff experience was superb. Ryan S and Alexis as well as the entire team worked seamlessly to create a dining experience to remember. We enjoyed learning about each new dish we tried all amongst the stunning mountain ambiance. Will return and recommend.

My husband ordered the 9 course tasting. Ryan brought out each dish and explained it perfectly ! What a delightful young man and so knowledgeable . The food was exquisite ! Especially the fois gras waygu. We ate on the patio and had one of the best meals we can remember! Don't miss it!

We come here quite a bit and have dined at multiple locations across the world. The food was not up to the typical standards we expect from a high end sushi restaurant. Had a $700 dinner for two people and the nigiri was dried out and seemed old, also had a bad oyster on the appetizer. Appetizers were mediocre

Excellent food and service as always. Sat at the sushi bar and got to watch the chefs at work.

I was so excited to celebrate my wife's birthday at Matsuhisa! She and I both love Japanese and Matsuhisa looks great online. When we walked in we were so pleased by the wonderful mix of old and modern, and everyone looked like they were having a great time. The manager welcomed us. The hostess walked us back... right next to the bathroom. Not good. I was in a coat and tie and my wife in a beautiful dress. So bad start, but the place was so nice and at first we didn't realize that we were the table closest to the bathroom until the traffic lane got busy. So we ordered. The waitress was good and helped us with the menu. We are very experienced Japanese food eaters - from San Francisco to Korea to New York. Their menu is somewhat custom for some of the special dishes they have - which is great but it is helpful to have someone guide. Mainly we enjoyed what we had except for the huge pile of arugula that was supposed to be a salad. Otherwise portions were sadly very small. So we're sitting there with this huge pile of salad and a few other starter dishes and I was eager for the Miso Black Cod to finally arrive. Just before serving it the attendant rushes over and clears all the side dishes away! What! They serve the fish with no side dishes. Ok the fish was good - not as good as in Oahu, but ok. It would have been more enjoyable if we could have eaten our other food with it - fail. Overall totally ho-hum and sub-par experience. Not going back. We both enjoyed our cocktails from the bar - nice job. Forget to mention the $55 for parking in the garage for a couple hours - no validation offered.

Was good as it usually is but the quality seems to have dropped a bit and meal was a bit rushed. Felt like the volume through the restaurant has decreased the quality and special experience of it.

Food was good quality, but not special. Improperly trained servers compared to past experiences. Disjointed teams and robotic explanations of dishes . Wanted it to be special, it just wasn't.

Went to Matsuhisa for our anniversary. Food & service was excellent, as usual. The sea bass with balsamic teriyaki was delicious!

Amazing as always! We all had the Omakasa and every course was an experience. The service was impeccable with the appropriate wait between courses. We had beautiful views of Vail mountain from our table
