food was good but the skinny fruity bartender that was working PM 9/22 was extremely rude and hostile to my guests upon arrival! as a fellow server, don’t work in the food industry if you’re going to treat people on a vacation in vail like crap.. get a new job.

We dined here while staying at the Arrabelle Hotel during our recent Vail visit. This restaurant is attached to the hotel and its outdoor seating has beautiful views of the slopes.
Service was lacking big time. Food came very late and it was very difficult to get our server's attention. Waters were seldom refilled. In one word- Service was disappointing !
Coming to the food :
We got Chicken Wings which were very different but not in a good way. I would rate them 7/10.
Assorted dumplings did not have any dumplings. It had bunch of shallow fried shrimps, gyoza and chicken sate kind of appetizer . Very misleading menu item.
Ordered quesadilla for my kid and it was not good.
My wife ordered a Mezcal drink which was watered down a lot.
The only saving grace were the desserts which I must say were truly mind blowing.
The Toasted Pineapple Gelato was one of the best I've ever had ! (a big reason I am upgrading my review to 3 stars from 2 stars) and the chocolate bomb was amazing too.
Overall - We will NOT return to dine in here but we will be back for desserts for sure if we are in the area !

We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, despite the place being nearly empty. Then we waited at least another 15 minutes to have a drink order taken. No server ever came to our table. They instead made jutiple trips to a table that sat down at least 15 minutes after us. We eventually left without ever being approach once after we were seated. We went to another place nearby and had a MUCH better experience. Don't go here if expect any level of service.
The Elk was delicious. The Tavern salad was good but it's huge so shareable. The “artisan bread” was not worth ordering. It seemed burnt in the top so the crust was so hard you could cut it.
There was a long hair in my food and the server did not care. We had to ask for a manager when we were charged for the food and when she came over she said she was never informed about the problem. She then asked if everything else was good and to have a good night. She did not care at all or offer us anything. She said sorry but it didn’t seem genuine. We will definitely not be back. Very poor customer service.
Everything is so good.

When u pay 25$ for a burger you would expect your tomato to be fresh and not dried out and arugola dried out…garbage food
Location is lovely. The food was so extraordinarily mediocre that it is hard to recommend. Our waiter was clearly not interested in our experience. Stood by the hostess stand while tables were waiting for food and checks.
Attempted to sit on the patio for drinks as a single person and was told I would have to sit at the bar despite over half of the patio tables being open and still hours before the dinner rush.

Slow and rude hostess. Two groups walked away ahead of us getting tired of waiting for her to seat people. Then the girl refused to seat our table as she “had to let the wait staff catch up.” Newly a dozen empty tables, we were the only ones left in line and would not let us sit down to wait. NOT fine dining when you hire someone who’d be fired from a Denny’s for poor customer service. Go to Garfinkle’s.

The restaurant was incredibly not gluten friendly and waitstaff was not nice or helpful with my food allergies. You can't beat the location but will not be returning.
The food is terrible and even had a finger print ketchup on the plate. Disgusting! And the waitress was just clueless and all over the place. They need to do better charging a lot of money for frozen Sysco is such a disgrace.

Tavern on the Square is a 5-star gem! We visited twice in one day, first for breakfast and again for cocktails. The breakfast spread was incredible, with an amazing omelet station and an impressive pastry selection. Later, Neil crafted an incredible espresso martini that was the perfect pick-me-up. But what truly made our experience special was the exceptional service from Jay and Neil - they were warm, attentive, and made us feel like locals. If you're in Vail, do yourself a favor and stop by Tavern on the Square. Be sure to say hi to Jay and Neil, they'll make your day!

Great service, great patio, and their grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup is my favorite.
