Bardo House matches the rest of the wheat ridge vibe but the coffee is awful.
Not much else to say about it really. Pretty much any other coffee shop will serve you a better coffee drink, whether it’s drip or espresso based, and there are plenty of options along that street that serve 10x better coffee. Huckleberry and Stylus and Crate come to mind.

The thing about Bardo is it's a coffee shop open late, which is highly appreciated. The other thing about Bardo is they falsely advertise free WiFi. I don't LOVE when an establishment requires a purchase for access to the Wi-Fi, but I get it, and those places are up front about it. Bardo advertises free WiFi but not only do they require a purchase, you'll need to make a second purchase if you're there beyond 1 hour 59 minutes. Or you better be ready to use your phone hotspot.
There aren't many places open this late, but they exist. And the Wi-Fi is ACTUALLY free. (And the coffee is better).

Feeling on edge after my encounter (Friday night, February 7th 2025) with the two ladies working the counter (lady with the glasses/long braid and lady with the bangs and shoulder length hair. Both brunettes). I proceeded to ask 1 of the two ladies working up front if I could have a slip for the WiFi. They proceeded to tell me I would need to make a minimum purchase of $2 and some change in order to be given a slip. Mind you, I had already spent $7 plus a tip for a 20 oz iced blondie. Granted I don’t think she’s the one that helped me during my initial purchase. But okay, I proceeded to buy a slice of carrot walnut. She turns around then moves on to performing another task. It wasn’t until the 2nd lady working the counter had made a comment, that I realized I was simply forgotten about. The lady that ringed be up for a slice of bread was sure to collect a payment to grant me access to the WiFI code but didn’t even bother to give me what I paid for. How laughable is that. Maybe 30 min later the lady with the glasses and braid walks up to the table I was at and tells one of individuals I’m sitting with that they need to throw away their outside drink (a drink that was empty/practically gone from the time she walked in to the establishment) She begins to state the coffee shop is not a place to lounge and they need to make sure people are also making a purchase. She further states we could be kicked out for having an outside drink. Well the thing is, I am a paying customer and I did not like how this employee proceeded to treat my friend. The employees are not aware of customers financial circumstances and whether or not they can make a second, third, purchase beyond their means. It made me feel unwelcome as if though financial gain is a priority over anything else. The lady with the glasses/braids was very aggressive in her delivery. I’ve been a customer of Bardo for years and have visited multiple locations. I take pride in the fact that I’m supporting a small business like Bardo. I have never experienced something like this and it honestly put a sour taste in my mouth. These workers behavior was completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving Bardo at Wheat-ridge and went up the street to Atomic Cowboy. Spent $100 on food and drinks and had access to the establishments WiFi until 2:00 am. I hope I never have to experience something like this at Bardo’s, if I ever return that is. Truly uncalled for and disgusting behavior from these two ladies.

All things considered, it's worse than other cafés in the area if you're looking for a place to sit and work. The Internet has a hard 2h limit.

A great coffee house with a vibrant atmosphere, strong coffee, fast wi-fi, and extremely long business hours! A little pricey though; Coffee costs about 7 dollars before tip.

Multiple times I order a coffee specifically "in a mug" and still receive it in a to go cup. Not a big deal to the barista, but it ruins the coffee experience for me. Getting tired of asking for a remake of what I actually ordered.

Treats on sight were absolutely delectable, but the service tonight had me questioning if I’ll be back. :/

Great late night hangout and great atmosphere for getting work done!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian/vegan burrito, premade bars, and alternative milk options for drinks! Their pumpkin drink for fall can also be made vegan on request.

I work "from home" and come here when said home is too noisy or otherwise distracting. Very cozy atmosphere, really great place to work or just have a drink. I don't drink coffee, so can't speak on that front, but I like the tumeric latte a lot.

This is a nice little shop to get a lot of work done and stay caffeinated ?
This is was my first time going into Bardo's and I was really excited to try it! As I went inside, I had already knew what I wanted to order (this whole experience occurred around 10am) and had relayed to the lady with the brown ponytail at the counter what I wanted. I didn't know this at the time, but I asked for my drink to go. She rudely replied that they didn't have any to go cups and I quickly apologized, given that this was my first time here. I went and sat down, 10 minutes had passed. Eventually, I got up and my drink had been sitting there, at this point very luke warm with no lid. I'm very disappointed that my first experience ended up poorly. I will never visit this establishment again.
