We went to Boards and Barrels a few nights ago, right after they changed from the Summer to the Autumn menu (the new menu is not currently on their website). The other members of my party got the stew and meatloaf, and really enjoyed their meals. I ordered the wild game burger (a mix of elk, bison and wild boar), and honestly, it was TERRIBLE. I'm not sure if it was because the meat mixture didn't have enough fat, or if it was simply overcooked, but it was like eating a burger that had been on the grill FAR too long. Husband tried it and said it was awful as well. I didn't report it to the server as I didn't want them to think I was looking for a refund, and didn't want to spend the time waiting for another meal. But I do want to warn other diners to avoid this burger until they get the meat mixture right, or have a chef who knows how long to leave a wild game burger on the grill. I've been to Boards and Barrels before and really enjoyed my meal, and the atmosphere is fun. This burger was just a huge miss.

Incredible food and atmosphere. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and tried one of their flatbreads, a charcuterie board, and their turkey sandwich on blueberry focaccia. All the food was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly and personable. HIGHLY recommend making the short drive up from the Springs or stopping if you're going through Woodland Park.

Quiet bistro with great drinks. We only had appetizers and drinks but they were great! Our server was extremely friendly and did a great job handling 13 of us at the end of her shift. She was also extremely helpful with suggestions for the rest of our trip.

Excellent, small, cozy... the food is very creative and tasted delicious. Paige at the bar was very hospitable and entertaining. We really enjoyed the evening.

We had the Bison medallions, lamb burger with blueberry and blue cheese, strawberry salad, a turkey sandwich, and pumpkin brulee. I would highly recommend all of these.

Wonderful find. Wife and I just cruising up 24 and decided to stop in. Atmosphere, Apps, Drinks, Meals were all excellent. We were in no rush and spent time casually ordering until we were full. Only tried a few items (spread sampler, soup sampler, old fashioned, wagu sliders, and 12 hour beef rib - most excellent). We WILL be back and give everything else a try eventually. NOT the place to hurry, but a great experience and afternoon!

What an incredible dinner experience! The service was great (loved the Pirate theme!), the ambiance excellent, but what blew me away was the touch of genius behind the flavor combinations of food. The citrus scallops with vanilla risotto was a masterpiece, that made me slow down and inhale the scents before each bite. The risotto was cooked to perfection, slightly al dente. This is a dish that is not for everyone, as it is very nuanced, but excellently executed.
The amaretto infused cream over berries added the perfect finishing touch to the evening. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! We’ll visit again when we return to Colorado!

My fiance and I grabbed dinner here while we were house sitting in Woodland park! Our server was James and to say he was wonderful was an understatement! He was so kind and personable not only to us but in interactions we heard with others as well. He spoke SO highly of the chef (owner of the business) and his wife! The owners were circulating around all evening and so involved in the restaurant! The food was amazing and so many unique combinations! We had the meatloaf and pork chop both were so good! Good drink selection and we ended our night with the crem brûlée that was heavenly. We absolutely want to come back to this place for the vibes alone. 10/10

We visited B&B for dinner and couldn’t have been more pleased. This has been by far the best dinner we’ve had since coming to Colorado. Good parking to start with and a convenient location. A nice greeting at the door and since we had a reservation (recommended) immediate seating. The atmosphere is kind of rustic/modern and there was plenty of business all around. Our waitress came almost immediately and asked about our beverages. Courteous and friendly service. We ordered the salmon special and marinated pork chop. Great choices. The food came fairly quickly and was delicious, flavorful and perfectly done. I was even surprised by the peach chutney a dish I’d never had before. Tasty and delicious like all the rest. The sauce accompanying the salmon was equally perfect. What topped the meal was the reasonable price - who could ask for more. If you’re in Woodland Park and haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. If from elsewhere, don’t pass by, but get yourself a good meal.

We were staying in Manitou Springs and wish we would have found this earlier. The 20 minute drive is worth it and I understand they have a great brunch. The husband/wife team took over the old Swiss style restaurant turned it into bistro with an emphasis on whiskeys and charcuterie boards. We had a steak and crab cakes and both were excellent.
