I flew all the way from Texas just to eat at Deepwater Seafood in Avon, CT — and it was absolutely worth every mile. I met the owner, who’s one of the most genuine, down‑to‑earth people you’ll ever talk to, and even got to chat with the cook. The hospitality alone made the trip special, but the food… the food almost made me cry.
The oysters were the best I’ve had in my entire life — unbelievably fresh, clean, and full of flavor. And the hot buttered lobster roll? Truly to die for. I ordered a little bit of everything just to try it all, and every single bite blew me away. This place doesn’t just serve seafood; they serve an experience.
The concept is amazing, the quality is unmatched, and the people running it are the kind that make you want to move to this beautiful area. I flew in on Thursday, ate here, and flew back home Friday morning — that’s how good it was. If you’re local, they’ve got all the fresh seafood you could ever want to take home. If you’re visiting, this is a MUST‑STOP spot.

Stopped by here to check out the selection, the Wester Ross Scottish Organic salmon was delicious, as I fire roasted it at home, the clam chowder was delicious and heated well at home, lastly, the mussels were fresh, I highly recommended this business ✨

Great customer service yeah I will let him know he says yes Ma’am ! Another fav I have to let go of Not the same food is not worth it anymore 1/2 portions from the summer after driving 1/2 hour drive oysters I got 10 small ones and onion rings full of dough and only 6 for 26.87 you go figure never again spend the 20 minutes more drive is what I will do

Fries were hot and delicious. Coleslaw was tangy and crunchy. Oyster roll was very disappointing. Way too much bread and very few oysters. Im used to an oyster roll that has a soft buttered roll stuffed with plump oysters and a side of lemon and tarter sauce. This was more like a grinder roll kind of sandwich, tough, chewey and a lot Of bread. The three tiny oysters were hard to taste in the bread. Seating was hard and uncomfortable and service was lacking enthusiasm for customers. We will not go back.

Just incredibly fresh. Fantastic seafood!!didn’t get a chance to take middle kid to the shore this summer, but he just said this lobster roll more than made up for it!’ I had the crab cake, also fantastic!!
Absolutely wonderful visit to Deepwater Seafood. I had the best lobster roll in the area. The bun is bigger than the average size hit dog bun, crispy thicker bread and lobster falling out of the bun on both ends. The staff and owner were a joy to converse with. I will definitely go back.

I don’t know how this place has been open for 15 years and we’ve just learned of it! This is the best seafood in the area by far! Not only is it freshly made on site but there are also several options for you to take home and enjoy later as well. With a small dining area you can get fresh fried clams and other goodies too and eat right in the restaurant or at the tables outside. This is a must try! You won’t be disappointed. Best fried clam strips and best onion rings that I have had ever! The lobster roll is incredible and served on this wonderful fresh French bread.
