Very disappointed. Max's has always been our favorite restaurant, but last night's dining experience wasn't good. Service to get drinks and our meals was very slow. We were put in a side room that was quite noisy. We told the server it was my daughter's birthday and he did nothing to acknowledge it. That's the first time ever in any restaurant that hasn't addressed a birthday meal. We arrived at 6:30 and didn't get out of the restaurant til nearly 9:00 because it took so long for our drinks and meals. Hopefully this was just a glitch because of their new location, but I would be afraid to go on a Friday or Saturday night based on our Monday night visit.

Cavernous dining room, noise level made it difficult to hear each other, food was pedestrian (although focaccia bread was good), and our server was not friendly and seemed stressed. To be fair, her derrière was almost on our table as she was attending to the table next to us. Two different manager types asked us how things were and we were polite. We won't be back.

Restaurant was very busy and very loud, even in our corner table. After taking our wine order, our waitress said she'd be back with water and bread while we decided on dinner. The bread eventually came well after our order went in but we had to request water. Food was very good. My only complaint was that our entrees came out before we had finished our appetizer. I had the sense at that point that they were trying to turn tables over quickly. Many not, as we were not hurried when drinking our coffee. I'll certainly return, but would choose a weeknight rather than a weekend date.

We have been patrons for 34 years! The food and service is excellent as always. Especially appreciated the ahi tuna and swordfish additions. Miss the chopped salad. The noise level is a major negative - difficult to carry on conversations. Probably won't dine as often as in the past especially with guests.

Great atmosphere! New design and location is a absolute masterpiece ! All the food was great, especially the duck casarecce (a unique and delicious pasta) Also chicken Milanese and Tuscan salad with shrimp were superb.

Max a Mia just moved to a new location in town. The decor is lovely. The service was outstanding from the hostess at the front desk to our server, Talia.. For appetizers we started with grilled Spanish octopus and beets with arugula, cheese and hazelnuts. For entrees we had swordfish steak al limone, which came with crispy Parmesan pave, roasted red peppers and salsa verde. The 2nd entree was wood fire grilled branzino fillet, which came with caponata, toasted pine nuts and grilled lemon. The portions were plentiful. For dessert we shared a bocci ball. Food was delicious and we can't wait to go back.

Not a friendly menu for people trying to eat healthful food. Very rich and loaded with fat…but tasty.

The waitress was very good and she didn’t rush us to leave at the end of our meal.

I recommend them for foodies who love Italian cuisine.

Typical Max establishment: professional service, mostly good but not overly inventive dishes, generous portions, and reasonable price point. Eggplant lasagna and ragú were our favorites. Lobster agnolotti and raviolo were decent but missed the mark. Octopus was solid but not overly special.

Small menu, no specials. Branzino nicely prepared. Wood-fired pizza very good. Gnocchi dish underwhelming, mainly because there were so few gnocchi.

Visited the new location, it will have to grow on me. A few menu changes. Love the bigger bar. They definitely need shades for the windows. A Max establishment is always good, they are consistent.

The new Mia is a definite special place. You have improved on an already successful restaurant. The food, staff and ambience are top notch.

The new location looks beautiful! Although, I had a couple of disappointing moments with the food. The arancini was a standout for us. It was really cheesy with just the right amount of crunch. I would order them again. The meatballs were just okay, wouldn’t order them again. We also ordered the chicken parmigiana both ways. We were disappointed in both, really lacking flavor/seasoning. For dessert we tried the crostata. Again, it was okay but I wouldn’t seek it out again. It also appeared to have aluminum foil stuck to the side which you can see in my picture. Overall, I think I would return but skip the meatballs, chicken parmigiana, and dessert. It was a really beautiful new look and a lovely atmosphere.
