I have ordered food from this place 30 times but stopped because the owner is very rude every time I come in. Most recently, after ordering and paying for food i arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food. When I gave my name which was printed on the bag she demanded to see the confirmation of the order on my phone. When I refused she threatened to call the police unless I left, as if i was trying steal food. I am sure this is racist because I am African American. Stay away!

I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Entering, I was greeted by lovely Mediterranean music playing over the sound system and was seated immediately in a mostly empty restaurant, which is surprising considering the quality of the food I was about to consume. I ordered the Moroccan tea, whipped ricotta, lamb Tagine, and kunafa. The tea was lovely; gently spiced and balanced enough to need no sugar. I enjoyed the fresh cardamom notes in the tea. The ricotta came out quickly, with homemade spiced pita chips. It was smooth and not too sweet; I enjoyed the pistachio crumble over the top to add some complexity to the appetizer. I did wait about twenty-five minutes for the lamb, which came with fresh pita bread; the menu said it also came with rice, which upon inquiring, was apparently moved to upcharge status; be aware of this menu change if you go and the menus have not been updated to reflect this. The server was very apologetic and did offer to bring out a serving of rice to honor the menu. The lamb itself was phenomenal; incredibly tender and richly spiced. Tasting it I immediately knew the wait had been worth it. The flavors of the plums and apricots paired incredibly well with the lamb and the harissa was smooth and not overpoweringly spicy. The kunafa was also lovely; crispy, sweet, and smooth, without being sickly. The food was delicious, full stop; I only wish the portion sizes were ever so slightly larger. I felt like I paid for a meal and received 95% of one. This, however, may merely be a function of the quality and flavor; after all, everyone knows the best things in life never last long. Total for the meal came out to about 55; a little much for a frequent day-to-day stop, but excellent for a date night or place to take friends. I will absolutely be back.

River’s Edge Mediterranean Cuisine was a pleasant surprise. The warm welcome and cozy atmosphere set the tone for a great meal. The menu had a nice variety, and the dishes we tried were quite good.

We started with the mezze platter, which offered a nice mix of flavors. The baba ganoush was smoky, and the tabbouleh was fresh. My main course was the chicken kebab, which was juicy and well-seasoned, served with rice and grilled vegetables. My wife had the vegetarian moussaka, which was hearty and satisfying.

The staff were attentive and helpful, offering good recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. The open kitchen added a bit of fun to the experience, letting us see the chefs at work.

Overall, River’s Edge Mediterranean Cuisine made for a good dining experience, and we look forward to visiting again when we’re in Avon.

My husband and I decided to try this place as we come from a Mediterranean background and enjoy delicious, authentic cuisines. It is unfortunate to say as I try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt but I cant let this go.
From the time we were seated to leaving it just was not right. The server gave us water and we asked for ice so he gave us a bucket of ice. We asked for straws amd he came back awhile later to say they were out of straws. We were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time.
I asked him about the lamb shank meal, what is eggplant yankeh? He didn't know and had to go ask but came back and said, it is just eggplant. When I got my meal the rice had some sort of creamy white dressing all over it.
My husband asked for tzatziki sauce on the side for his lamb gyro and the waiter said that's an additional $1 charge so he said to just put it on lightly. He never got the tzatziki sauce and the lamb was so dry.
I unfortunately would not return due to the food and service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated but what is that worth if you don't have good food and staff?

What a treat! River’s Edge Mediterranean Cuisine was fantastic! Incredible portions, great flavor, and attentive staff make this a must visit. I am in Avon a few times a year, and my regular spot is just next door. Took a chance on a new spot as I had been craving some infrequent flavors and I was not disappointed. My son (2 years old) crushed the hummus and pita. The falafel had an incredible fry on it and big flavor! The lamb shank was so tender and flavorful it had my mother silently finishing it in one pass. My shawarma was delightfully presented and full of complex flavors. My wife’s falafel and hummus pita wrap was no joke, the size of a toddlers arm (we compared sizes with the 2 year old in between hummus bites) and packed full of tahini and fresh vegetables.

The service staff were wonderful, and the view into the kitchen always makes for an entertaining trip.

We are looking forward to our next trip back.

Dietary restrictions: A couple dairy allergies in our party were easily navigated by staff and by the fresh flavors needed for this style of food.

The slim server didn't engage our table at all. I had to keep saying excuse me to get her attention. She had a standoffish demeanor and I knew it was downhill from that point.
