As a long time customer, I have to say the food at The Log House is consistently great. Large portions and have never had anything there that was not top notch. COVID and the passing of the long-term owners were hard hits, but The Log House is still the Log House in almost all respects. There have been a couple of changes however - the hours are less now, and the Sunday breakfast buffet is not done every Sunday. So check the website before you go, and bring your appetite.

Everything except the business hours is great at the Log House restaurant. They Are the only Family Restaurant in Barkhamsted and their hours are only mornings and afternoons. They used to be openings and I wish they would do that again come under the perfect restaurant for it.

This place is a top 10 + in our opinion. If you love vintage style dining with a definite country flair, this restaurant has it all. My husband and I usually seek out vintage diners or unique restaurants and found this one during one of our antique shopping sprees. It is such an awesome place and we will definitely be back.

Ouch! Talk about price gouging - only one refill for your (small) cup of coffee. The waitress neglected to say this until after she poured my third cup of coffee (I don't think three cups of a 6 oz cup is equivalent to five plus dollars!) Also, I got the 4x4x4x4 - the portions seem a little smaller than they used to be. Oh well. Next...
In response to the owner's post: The waitress did not tell me until AFTER she gave me a third cup of coffee that there would be an additional charge for another cup of coffee. Also: If you look at the menu, your costs for beverages are not listed!
I fully understand how costs are going up for restaurants - but it would be nice to have full transparency of what you charge your customers before they order anything! And not have hidden charges!
In fact, if you don't have full transparency of what you are going to charge customers - then why would anyone want to eat at the restaurant?

The place is truly beautiful. The building is truly a sight to behold. The staff is very polite and attentive. The food is very good and delicious. It's a bit far from my house, but I'll definitely be back because it's worth it. I definitely recommend it.
