Captain Lou's Chowdah House

This place sneakily has the best burger in the Newtown area. Like 12 bucks gets you a brioche bun, beef, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and some sort of Kraft single. Class act. The entire menu is delicious and reasonably priced, and you should go here. Get the cinnamon sugar dough boys too. Change ya life

Online tips go to the store. Not the kids working.Cash tips get split between everyone there, not the person in the front doing all the work. Tax is 3% the normal tax fee. $11.00 an hour the kids are making which is under minimum wage. The oil they fry in gets shared upon the seafood and fries..bad for allergies. No fish and chips, weird.

Brought my 18 year old daughter for a tour of NYC and New Jersey. Wonderful time.

Best lobster bisque and lobster roll around

We bought cold lobster rolls, chowder and cinnamon doughboys. They were all excellent. Next time I'll pass on the fries that come with the rolls. We were full.

I’ve eaten more than half of this platter but the seafood platter was delicious and fresh. The chicken strips for kids was quality chicken and flavorful and the lobster grilled cheese was good as well. The cheeseburger was just okay but my son who is picky liked it more than I did. The fries are just ok but I’m super partial to certain fries and these aren’t it. Onion rings were really crunchy and tasty! We will definitely be back!! There was something for all of us here. Ice cream and Oreo stuffed dough boys for next time bc we are stuffed

After a long day of driving we managed to find Captain Lou's--don't turn off your common sense when turning on your GPS! We were pleased that dine-in was available... both had claims, I added a cup of lobster bisque. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot! (Note that you order and pay at the counter, food is delivered to your table.) The only downside we could come up with is that a larger selection of drinks would be nice... we didn't have room to try the ice cream, but it looked great! Everything looked clean... decor is a bit... cute? LOL This is not a fancy place but it's classy and the food is great!

Best lobster roll! We tried the hot and cold rolls and both were fantastic! Chowder was yummy too. Staff was amazingly friendly as well. 2 thumbs up!

Nice big lobster roll!! So nice to have one that has chunks and claws for once and not all diced up. Chowdah was great as well as the lobstah bisque. Kids enjoyed burgers and ice cream. Will definitely be back!

Was very good! We got the whole belly clams, fried scallops and fried shrimp and we loved them all - best in area! We weren’t thrilled on the stuffed clam but 3 out of 4........ we will definitely be back.
