Great food, great service. As a long time town resident, this is one of my favorite spots. The specials are always great and I haven't left disappointed yet.

Dinner last night with friends, party of 6, 7:30 reservation. I often pre-judge Italian restaurants by the quality of the Italian bread. Unfortunately last night they kept giving our table stale bread. Crouton-like. Snapped when you broke it, like the slices were out in the open for half a day. Didn't mention it because we are all friends of the non-complaining type. But I fail to understand how this could happen consistently all night in a quality restaurant. It was either recycled, or just left out in a basket for half a day before serving.Left with a bad impression of the kitchen and suspicious of quality control as a result, but still had a good time and closed the place up. Noticed consistently high reviews for this place so my judgement may have been on a one-time bad night or fluke.

La Zingara is always good. Service, food, ambience and they also solved the sound level problem. We got a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price too. We'll be back!

BEST Italian anywhere nearby and worth traveling into Bethel for. All Italian wine list has something for everyone and the staff is happy to help. Amazing cocktail program and rotating draft beer, and we haven't even mentioned the food. This is classic Italian (no parm list or gloopy pastas here), and you get a true taste of Italy. They run weekly specials to keep the menu fresh and change the entire menu seasonally, using local farms as often as possible. A true gem in Bethel!

I have been here twice now, and both times the food was wonderful. This is one of my girlfriend's favorite local spots, and she has been wanting me to try out the brunch offering (PS-If I eat it at 1 PM-isn't it lunch?) For just under $30, I had the salad, The Bistecca Dell 'Impicato Con Uova (The hanger steak with an espresso glaze, homefries, and eggs), and a sorbet. It was delicious, and the portion on the main course was generous. One complaint-the service of the meal takes a very long tie. I am told, this is the way here, but worth it, and forces you to slow down. This does not detract from the meal, as long as you can be patient. Of note-the servers are lovely as well. Another thing that La Zingara does that I think is a bad trend amongst most restaurants-the music is too loud. This, paired with the bad acoustics, made it difficult to hear even the person two seats away from me (but not that crazy loud lady two tables away. I heard her just fine. Simmer down, Claire!) None of this takes a star away. Good food, nice people, recommended.

The people who run this place are horrible. Went Xmas eve dayafter viewing their updated Christmas Eve hours. The fella that mans the front for years with zero personality or gravitas said they didn’t open till 3. When I pointed out what the website said he shrugged his shoulders as if to say”what do u want me to do about it”.This fella for years has been gruff and unfriendly as has the owner. It gets old.

the restaurant is cute and is good to host a party but i don't reccommend their brunch. I wasn't fond that i could only order from their brunch menu when i went there but the food is good overall, just wish there were more food options during brunch

I've eaten at La Zingara and the Vesta rooftop a few times now and have had a great meal with friendly service every time. The owner Lisa and her daughters are all very sweet as well. Highly recommend!

We just moved to the area from Stamford and fell in love with this restaurant!FOOD - we started with the "Straciatella, Fichi e Pistachio", which was INCREDIBLE, and a very healthy portion for two. We also shared a stuffed pepper special, which was broiled, so it was cooked to perfection - easy to cut, full of flavor, not stringy or chewy. I had the "Strozzapreti di Basilicata", which was so garlicy and delicious. I did add a little salt, but that's just because I like things saltier. I wish we had pictures!SERVICE - Mike was our server and was very attentive, always smiling, and friendly. Lisa, one of the owners, also stopped by several times and made great conversation, telling us how the different dishes were made, and made us feel really welcome. This place reminded me so much of Cafe Silvium in Stamford with its charm, authentic and delicious food, and great service. We can't wait to come back!
