Sloooow service, average food

I get the concept but it wasn't really enjoyable to me. Food wasn't great and the guacamole taste like it came from a store bought container. It's a cute little place and the waitress was super nice. I'm just not impressed with the food here.

I really want to like this place, but ultimately the experience at Shakedown was kind of middling. Music was welcome, but way too loud, and service was slow, even for a busier night...

But honestly, my biggest gripe is the menu. The actual quality of the food ranges from fine to pretty good... but is hampered by the fact that menu navigation is all over the place in terms of building the plate, and the theme/presentation to me doesn't make any lick of sense.

If this is a "street eats" place, maybe focus on street cart style offerings served tapas style in foil or in cups or on sticks? I feel that would streamline things, complete the theme, and overall would be a step up.

From the name of the joint, I expected street food, but what I got was a bunch of great sounding options centering around meal bowls, with the chips or rice addition that ended up seeming like uninspired, bland filler. I understand those an appealing easy out for meal building, sure, but it comes across as lazy. As a side option, chips or side of rice would be fine. Put all that filler stuff to the side of the menu and I'll order it if I want.

Proteins were great. Flavors were spot on. I would've loved to just order a bunch of those to share as the default. There were other options I saw too for plate building to make our meals at the bottom of the page, but it was honestly a confusing mess for me and my gf. In it's current state, we both felt bombarded with unnecessary options and asides. If I marked up the flow of options for this menu, it would look like a football play XD

Far be it from me to tell someone how to run their restaurant. Running multiple restaurants is a challenge. Overall, Shakedown Street Eats is not a bad place to eat.. but when stacked against the slew of options we have locally? While there's absolutely potential here, as it stands, it's a shame there's nothing that's jiving enough to bring me back. Seems other people like it, but neither of us get it.

Loved the food and the anjo old fashion made by the amazing and very personable bartender Javier. Stopped in on a Sunday and left smiling. What a beautiful location and atmosphere. Will definitely be back because the bartender was so lovely. I meant what I said, great service, and great food deserves recognition.

Vegetarian options: The cauliflower wings and falafel was incredible!

Seemed like a friendly place. Maybe I'm just slow, but the menu was very confusing. I asked other people and they agreed. Service was prompt and tried to help explain the confusing menu. Food tasted decent enough. Portions were extremely small for the price.I was in the restaurant business for 8 years. I eat out often. This is not a bad review. Just giving feedback. I wouldn't return. Hope this was helpful to all readers.

The food was not the best. Everything we got was not great except for the corn bread and even that was nothing crazy. My steak bowl tasted old, waffles were definitely not fresh. The cauliflower wings were very mushy. Someone mentioned it may be because the main chef was not there yet but sous chefs should still be able to cook the menu items well. I looked at reviews so I had high hopes and it was a waste of money unfortunately. The server was sweet and attentive. Would not come back.

Loved the short rib tacos with the chimichurri. Gabriela was a wonderful, attentive server. The Prosecco with Elderflower and Chocolate Martinis were on point. Best part was live music with Quentin Marcus. Made it a magical evening.

Food and our waitress was great..the place feels nice but definitely tight inside. It was loud in there because it's a small place. There was a party table near us with a buffet set up in the other room, but they should have been in there, so the atmosphere could have been

Unfortunately, the experience at this restaurant seems to be inconsistent and disappointing. Despite a previous positive encounter, subsequent visits were marred by bad food taste, inadequate service, and a lack of attention from the owner when concerns were raised. Given these issues, I cannot recommend this establishment for a satisfactory dining experience.
