Let me start by saying I need to eat this food fresh because it tastes so good delivered. I need it straight from the kitchen. Mozzarella sticks great taste. Hot dogs with cheese and bacon amazing. Even the fries still tasted good after a car ride.

I went to Whitlock's a couple of weekends ago and had the absolute best meal. I ordered the French dip and it was mouthwatering good. My server's name was Tisha and she was honestly one of the best server's I've ever meet. Her smile light up the room and she went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were happy from the time I walked in, to the time we left. I would recommend Whitlock's to anyone who hasn't been.

I went to Whitlocks today with 6 ladies for lunch. It was my choice as I had been there on mother's Day with friends and had loved the captains platter. This was not the same place I've been many times before. The food took so long we could not understand what happened. Two of the ladies had burgers which they could not eat. The special sauce that was supposed to be on them was barely there, there were no tomatoes and the buns tasted stale. Neither of them ate more than a third of them, one friend had her favorite grilled shrimp in rice which was a totally different dish than it had been, I had fried clams which were ok but definitely not like the ones I had on mother's Day. The other three, two whom had chicken wraps and one eggplant enjoyed their meals. We asked if it was a different chef. While the server was very nice, there was no mention of doing anything to make the situation better for the two who found the burgers so unappetizing that they didn't eat. It kind of left us with a bad taste...on top of the already bad taste from the unappetizing food. Unfortunately, as we do out often, we will not be going back. Sad because it used to be very good

For over 30 plus years Whitlocks in Bethel has been one of go to places for my wife and I would go for a good meal with great service. The last few times we have experienced substandard service with extensive wait on food plus having to ask for server to bring water and rolls. Last night my wife and I at 5:20 pm on a Saturday evening went to Whitlocks and was surprised there were not many patrons in the dining room or in the bar area. We sat down in one of the booths in the bar area and immediately order a drink and soda from the waitress. Eighteen minutes later we were still waiting to the waitress to come over with our drinks and take our meal order. Frustrated we looked and noticed the waitress was just taking to other employees. At that point we just left to go someplace else in town to eat. Since the change in ownership we both have seen a significant changes in staffing, service, and prices that in our opinion has reduce the quality of Whitlocks dinning experience.

Great prime rib on Friday and Saturday only. Call ahead to order it.
Good friendly staff and owner checks on if you enjoyed your meal.

We tried Whitlock's Restaurant for the first time today and were impressed! The atmosphere was cozy and lively, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. we ordered the prime rib, which was incredibly delicious, and it lived up to the hype.
What stood out most was how the owner introduced himself to us when we entered the restaurant and even treated us to a very delicious free dessert. Prices were reasonable.
I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for American cuisine, and we’ll be back to try more of the menu!

Whitlock’s is an amazing local gem. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the service is so friendly.
We booked the restaurant for a celebration of life and I could not be more complimentary. The owner, John, made the whole experience so easy, all the guests raved about the food, and the space gave us the privacy and comfort we needed.

We’ve been going to Whitlocks for years and I have definitely seen a decline in the food and service. The last 3x have left us unsatisfied and we do not plan to return. There was one waitress for the entire place! And one bartender for a full bar.
The food was bland and not as advertised…they substituted the whole belly clams for clam strips and charged me 40.00 without even telling me prior to receiving the order. The French onion soup was salty and with burnt cheese on top. The waitress never came back to the table and we had to get up and track her down for the check. No refills, no checking on us nothing! Mind you there were only 4 tables….so the place was far from packed. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

We went for lunch here and we all agree that our salads with added chicken, fish, were a huge disappointment. Bigger and much better salads at Panera! Overrated & overpriced. Once was enough!
