The vegan cheese is consistently fantastic! Tonight, I also enjoyed the tofu salad which was light in taste and filling as well. The food never disappoints! Its the first place I want to take friends who come visit!Vegetarian options: Its all vegan!Dietary restrictions: There's many gluten free options

Recommended dishes: Vegan Cheese, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Jamaican Jerk Chicken

I've never been more disgusted with the food,If you can call it food, the Chicks who wish they were dudes and all of the horribly degenerate and Deviant books on display at this house full of carpet chewers. And by the way, the head carpetchewer said they have never made a profit, so a definite loser.

100% vegan but very tasty and homemade from the soup to bread and butter to ice cream. Great friendly service...and a calico cat!

It’s a fantastic place to watch NASCAR, the Super Bowl or hockey. It’s the perfect place to meet with my fellow Trumpers. Smells like tuna though…

a nice place to sit and have a wholesome meal. my mom was friendly with Selma and Noel, so I grew up eating here a handful of times a year. there's something on the menu for most everyone, and their cookbooks are excellent. If you're reading through negative reviews, take this as a sign that you should visit Bloodroot!

Food is tasty but the portions have gotten much smaller. The service is okay but they aren't friendly like they used to be. The ambience is what it has always been.

Absolutely incredible, I would recommend someone visit Bridgeport for this place alone. The history of the place, the owners, the incredibly nice stuff, all of this was fascinating. As a queer vegan, it was humbling to be in this space.I bought their cookbook and made a meal the next night, it was delicious! Great little tips inside.Kid-friendliness: Several families came in with ample room for everyone. It was super cute

It's a very special place and should be on every vegetarian's list of places to visit. Food is great even if choices are somewhat limited. Service is self-service. The atmosphere is wonderful, though they might be judging you.

My family and I were kicked out of this place in the most rude and verbally aggressive way possible. I am a woman and a feminist-- This is the last place I was expecting to be treated like that. We came in 20 min before the restaurant opened with the intention of checking the bookstore that's attached to the eatery. The incredibly rude host even shooed my child out. She continued to yell at us when we were out. We were having such a nice day and this experience put a damper on an otherwise great day. I will not be coming here and neither should you.

Great spot for browsing feminist books, eating vegan meals that taste home cooked, talking to interesting people, chilling in a quirky vintage atmosphere, and learning about the colorful history of this establishment. If it's nice out you can sit outside, with a nice view of the water. Order at the desk as you walk in, brows the books and weaving supplies until you are called, get your food from the window, choose somewhere to eat, and when you are done you leave the dirty dishes in the bus tubs. It's a lively, unique experienceParking: Just past the restaurant is a private parking area over looking the water

I recently visited Bloodroot Vegetarian restaurant and was blown away by the quality of food and service. The menu was extensive, with plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians alike. I tried the Jamaican j*** “chicken,” which was delicious. The service was top-notch and the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy. The owners of the restaurant were warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The restaurant owners hospitality added to the overall experience.

A really nice vegan place to eat in that whole area. The food is freshly cooked in front of you and is delicious. It’s more like a home made food than restaurant food. The owner were really friendly.
