This very friendly and unassuming place seems to be very popular with both locals and tourists alike. The drawing factors are the friendly service and superb quality of their ice cream made by the owners from the best ingredients. There is a cozy space indoors and a couple of tables outside in an alley. We only had their great ice cream but they also specialize in sandwiches..Calypso is part of A H Rise Mall.. The owners have a very friendly and welcoming approach to their patrons. I want to come back each time I am in Charlotte Amalie.!

Fabulous preparation of good basic food. Pleasant service, helpful chef. The homemade sauerkraut was wonderful on the polish sausage with grilled onions and swiss cheese. Try the ice cream nearby for dessert.

My husband found that Calypso had a very good rating on TripAdvisor. We had kind of a hard time finding it as it is tucked in a mall in the International Diamond store. Darius and Cameron were so personable, helpful, and interesting. Darius made us wonderful omelets and Cameron made a mocha for me just the way I like it. We made a few trips back there during our vacation

This was our first day in St. Thomas celebrating our 50th anniversary. We decided to go to Calypso Cafe after I saw the excellent reviews. Calypso was about to close when we finally found it. The gps took us in circles because it is the middle of a mall. Even though they were about to close Darius made my wife an excellent black bean burger and I had a polish sausage sandwich. Darius's wife Grace gave us some ice cream. Darius and Grace were very accommodating and very nice. We highly recommend Calypso Cafe

Located in the center of Main Street St. Thomas, in the back of a glamorous and elegant Jewelry Store .. lays the nested and long enjoyed Local Cafe of Calypso. There in it’s warm well lit theatrical cooking, creations of not only beloved coffees and delicacies of ice cream and pastries but also the most refine craftsmanship of sandwiches known to human mind is held in one of if not thee highest regard on the island. People don’t go there just for the food alone either. Diamonds worth millions are kept in safes , so is this too one of the well tucked away shared treasures that St. Thomas locals like myself delight in . “The service” one would say “speaks for far greater value than the Jewelry store located infront of it!” Have seat either inside or outside in a patio under the shaded seating where you can enjoy your meal in bliss tucked away from the heartache of society , going with either friends or family alike . Taking a visit to this Gem of Gems I have absolute trust you wouldn’t regret it.

This place was a happy discovery I stumbled upon with 2 hangry teens. The proprietor stopped eating his lunch to make us some sizzling hotdogs. Who knew a succulent hotdog could be one of the best meals of our vacation? Just looking at the pictures from the other reviews gives me a happy memory. I hope to visit again some day!

I wish every place was such a positive surprise as this one! Visit at Ice Cream Company is a must while being on St. Thomas Island. We had delicious ice cream and one of a kind sandwiches with exceptional Polish sausages (we know what we are talking about as we come from Poland). The owner and the team are so kind and welcoming that we wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you for making our visit in Charlotte Amalie so great. 🙂

We got ice cream and then came back for dinner right before they closed. The. Est sandwiches because French bread was delicious. We couldn't find another place like this downtown. It wasn't even busy with all the cruise tourists. Great coffee and locally made hibiscus passionflower drink. Can't wait to try the crepe next time! They let us stay past closing time and let people keep coming in for ice cream.

This place is great, it has great food great service too. It’s like a secret restaurant with AMAZING food. The cook is great and right next to it is a ice cream place so whenever your done eating you can have a little dessert. I really recommend this place. If you just want a little snack they have it. You want something filling or big they have it. Basically anything you want they have it. And they use REAL meat, and FRESH ingredients. And air conditioning. I really recommend this place.
