Famous 50's Diner

The place is overwhelmed it has so many decorations that to my taste is too much but it does looks good. The young boy took my order and was very attentive of me during my stay. The price was very good for scramble eggs, turkey bacon,potatoes,small orange juice,coffee which I believe was free based on a huge sign I saw the minute I entered. Just for $12.99. At first when I entered I was afraid that the food was no good because there were nobody there but me at 8:30am for breakfast so I thought maybe the food is no good, but the food was good. Famous 50's Diner is awful. They have roaches, the workers sweep, then wipe off tables w/out ever washing hands or wearing gloves and have 0 personality as waitresses. The frozen fish was hard and tasted stale. This place needs to have a visit by Food and Standards, CT Dept of Consumer Protection like ASAP.

This was an awesome diner, a bit off the highway. The burgers were amazing and my mother had a salad that was huge! Definitely recommend if you’re near Bridgeport.

The food was exceptional, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'm rating this at such a low score because of a few factors. It seemed like there was only one person cooking the food. When we arrived there was only one party before us already eating, and another party that came in maybe 5 minutes after us. There were only 2 people in my party, but it still took the food 45-50 minutes to arrive. There were at least 4 servers, for an extremely tiny dining room, 2 women cleaning the floors as well as a cashier. Maybe train some of the servers to do both in front of the house and cook so that you can get people in and out of the restaurant in a timely fashion.

Wonderful neighborhood diner. You're greeted at the door with a smile and the food is delicious. There's even an entertainment night here and there. We visit regularly!!

I'm surprised I've never been here. The decor is totally 50's black and white, and it's kind of drab slow music when you go in the morning. The TV is set to Old Westerns. I had a pastrami reuben and fries. My bestie had eggs and pastrami sandwich with homefries. The food was awesome. The service was good but slow it wasn't crowded, and the simple order took longer than it should have. I would definitely go again because the menu has some things I would like to try..
