Food is different from other spots. You can taste the difference immediately. It's not my favorite, but i do appreciate the quality and thoughtfulness put into the cooking.

The patties are crispy, hot and delicious. Their corn meal porridge is also top notch. I wish there was more meat instead of rice though.

Oxtail here are usually great. Ordered something with white rice and it wasn't even fully cooked. Highly disappointing. They use a mix of aluminum/plastic, Styrofoam, and paper containers

They do not take pride in the cleanliness or appearance of their establishment. The food is old and slimey and when brought to their attention the blame is put on the customer for not telling them "before it is served". How could a person know food is bad before it is served? They have no respect for their fellow human, who chose to try their food with hard earned money to support a black business in the community. It is so disappointing to not even be offered an apology let alone refund. Will never come here again, i feel like i donated money to a place that does not care or respect customers at a basic level. So extremely disappointing and i do not say this with any hate or malice in my heart, it is just the truth. I hope they can do better and i know people make mistakes sometimes so i sincerely wish them well and hope things change for the better.

This beautiful brisk Pride Month morning, i woke up with the fridge running low and a hunger for something rich. I went with local Jamaican flavor instead of Taco Bell, and ordered up some curry goat and coco bread. Never tried rum cake before, so I was curious and added that, too.
My whole fam’s down with some sort of sickness and feeling too sluggish to do much of anything, so I just quietly picked up my bag and went up to eat… but then I saw that rich, dark, dense rum cake and went “they need some of this, too.”
Got mom n her bf some saltfish (bf’s muslim so we went with seafood), ackee (jamaican classic!), calaloo, and enough tasty sides to keep us fed for half the day (only five extra dollars for six whole sides? What a steal!)
They even called me up sweetly and said the cabbage wasn’t ready this early in the morning, ‘n asked if i wanted a replacement. So sweet. They asked for a good write-up, so I’m gonna say this:
that curry goat and coco bread had me in such a good mood that I spent 40+ dollars to give the whole family a good breakfast!

It was my family and I first time buying from this place! I spent $69 on 2 medium oxtail dinners 1 large curry goat dinner and 1 large oxtail dinner. I delivered everyone's dinner to them , 1 ate all of her medium dinner without looking through her meal. My granddaughter didn't eat hers but my daughter started eating hers because she was very hungry. Once she was half way through, she noticed something in her food so we put it under the bright light and to find it was a worm?. I immediately tried calling the restaurant but they were closed so I called the next morning and explained to the young lady who answered the phone what we found in my daughter's food and she said' that's not possible, its not a worm ? it's something that comes from the inside of a oxtail bone, her voice was very aggressive towards me. I decided to change it to the game and take the loss but I promise you we would never ever eat from this place again. Food for thought, please check your food upon purchasing from this place because you never know what might be in it.

I got pepper steak and white rice. My girl got curry chicken and rice and peas, beef patties also. . . Lackluster flavor on both main dishes. There was nothing pepper about the steak. Curry chicken was the same and mostly bones. Patties were decent. I can't say i would go back there for food.
She’s worse than the nail salon. Prices are clearly posted on her backboard, but she charge more once you hand her the money. Go to Golden Krust in Stratford for patties.I personally only get the veggie pattie. The beef meat patty was mushy and unseasoned

I thought I reviewed them already, seeing as I've been here often. This location is much bigger and more variety than the one on main street. They have a nice menu, and even breakfast 'porridge', which I've yet to try. They have spiced cake which another patron told me was what he comes for every time! They also have other cakes: red velvet, better than s*x, coconut, a sweet potato cheesecake, a pound cake too.. and buns. A nice variety of soda drinks, including ginger beer. The food is good. Oxtail, pepper steak, stew chicken, stew pork, fish, meatloaf... those are regular staples on the menu. All can come with rice and peas and 'salad' aka cabbage. Small, med, large.. great portions. Lady behind the register always nice and greets you kindly. I'll have to get pictures next time!
