We needed a place to eat near the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Ct and by luck we got reservations at Ralph ‘n’ Rich’s which is one of the finest Italian Restaurants that I have ever eaten at. This restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the Amphitheater where we were planning to see Deep Purple and Yes. The staff was outstanding and catered to our every need. They were sensitive to our schedule and all the drinks and courses came out perfectly timed. The food was delicious with a special acknowledgment to the stuffed mushrooms, that were outstanding. We enjoyed a complementary bread service and our entrees that consisted of Chicken Marsala, Veal Parm and Pasta and Meatballs were all superb. We all gave this restaurant 5 stars.

Excellent as always. From the minute you walk in the door, the service is great. We had shrimp cocktail that were huge and cooked perfect. The cocktail sauce had horseradish on top that gives it a special kick. My husband had short ribs and I had chicken Marsala. Yum. Oh and the Caesar salad was perfect. This restaurant is the most consistently excellent place to dine.

I don't get to Ralph & Rich's enough.
I'm usually there during the less busy lunch hours, which is what I prefer. When I say less busy, I just mean that there aren't a ton of people at the bar.
This place has a solid reputation and groups are always either gathered in the bright, back table area or outside, like today when the weather is great.
Bartenders and servers are always great to chat with and they've always got something good on the TV.
I'm head over heels for the clams casino and the red sangria is perfect! Tried the oysters Florentina, which was something new for me. Pretty good.
Looking forward to trying the calamari Siciliano.

This was the 1st time l ever went to this Restaurant, and l was dining alone after attending a Convention in the area.
There were so many Menu choices. . . that all sounded so delicious! I couldn't help thinking, "If the food is good, here (and it was), I'm definitely going to have to come back and eat here, again! . . . And bring friends!!"
I settled on ordering a Garden Salad, and the Cavatelli with Broccoli (since this has been one of my favorites for a long time). The portions were generous, and well-presented. I loved the Salad! And even though the Cavatelli with Broccoli was not the BEST I've ever tasted. . . after adding more Parmesan and a scattering of hot pepper flakes to it, both were still very good. ??
For Dessert, l ordered the Rice Pudding. It was topped with a generous mound of tasty whipped cream and a slice of strawberry (which l thought was different, and made a nice finishing touch).?
Again, it wasn't the best Rice Pudding l've ever had, but was also still very good.
I look forward to eating here, again, and trying some of the other tempting choices on their Menu. And bringing friends!?
Parking: When l first located the Restaurant, l noticed there was street parking out front, and wasn't too thrilled about this; especially noticing that there is some major construction going on across the street from the venue. But as l continued to the intersection and turned left at the light (planning to turn around, and go back to hopefully park directly in front of the restaurant, instead of on the right side of the street near the construction site), I discovered that there is a HUGE parking lot behind the block of businesses that includes Ralph's & Rich's. Bingo!! ??
There was a ticket machine at the entrance of the lot. I stopped; thinking l had to get a ticket, but there wasn't one. So l proceeded in and parked.
Inside the Restaurant, however, when you are greeted, they ask for your license plate/tag number (so, if you don't know it by heart, write it down, and bring it in with you). They have you enter your plate number into a little machine in the entryway (specifically for that), otherwise you'll receive a bill for parking from the parking lot management company).
An "Ah-ha" moment!
So, after discretely entering my license plate number, l was escorted to my table, and given my menu of delicious meal choices! ?

Seems like a nice place and my cocktail was prepared really well but the chicken on my Caesar salad was a bit dry. The rest of the salad was excellent with fresh ingredients and seasoned nicely.

We had an amazing late lunch today. It was our first time here and we were excited to try the “Sunday Sauce”. I grew up visiting family in the Bronx for Sunday gravy. For our family it was an all day feast that included “gravy” tomato sauce cooked with varies meats like meatballs, ribs, braciole and sausage. This meal took me back in time. It was perfect, both delicious and a great value. Photos are of all four courses. I hope they always offer this traditional Italian Sunday meal!

My husband is in a wheelchair and this is one of the few restaurants in our area that is easily accessible for him and has plenty of tables that can easily accommodate the chair. The food was great,as was the service. The owner couldn't have been any nicer.
