Shah's Halal Food - Bridgeport

I really wish I had read the reviews about them using the restroom, touching raw meat, and digging through garbage before serving food with unwashed hands before I ordered from here. My friend and I both got horrible food poisoning almost immediately after eating our food. They're refusing to give a refund too, because we don't have a photo of the food we already ate. Regardless, I am reporting this restaurant to the Health Department and encourage everybody else to as well. I can't believe this location has stayed open this long with the reviews I see here.

The chicken over rice is very good and very delicious and the employees are good. I like the people’s they communication everything. “Aruna” so good at handling customers .she’s very friendly and suggest the best food😍😍❤️

Only upsetting part is that i loved it and now ima have to drive 40min just to eat here when i crave it

Jasmine is absolutely wonderful!!! I love her huge smile, the way she greets you when you come thru the doors and her high energy! She is ALWAYS kind and patient when I get stuck trying to figure out what I want. It’s a pleasure everytime when I come to Shah Halal in Bridgeport Connecticut! THANK YOU JASMINE!!!!!! She keeps me coming back!

Used to be good in the beginning like other Shah Halal branches.
Feels like nothing is fresh anymore. Every-time the taste is different.
Other Shah Halal branches are way better and offer quality consistently.

Air Conditioning doesn’t work a lot of the time and you don’t feel the place is clean.

I have a good experience at store in Arlington location. The person who took my order was nice and professional. He showed me all what’s in the menu and even recommended me a meal I loved. Honestly the food was very good. I will recommend this place to all my family and friends. Thanks ShahHakal

From the moment I walked through the door until I left I may have had the best experience ordering food out. This place by far had the friendliest staff with knowledge and help to get you through their ordering process. My first time in and I didn’t feel rushed every worker was smiling and every single person I spoke to said hello. Now the food I ordered the chicken and beef combo absolutely amazing 5 stars all the way and I’m not easily satisfied when it comes to eating dinner out. After ordering I left on my way home I realized I had someone in my party with a food allergy I called the store and immediately they went in the back to check the ingredients on one of the sauces lucky for my family member they could still eat the food and I did not need to go somewhere else. I will 100 percent be coming back to this food establishment. Thank you for the amazing food and by far the best service I have had in a very long time.

I have been to this establishment to pick up food 4 times. The first time ever, I got their chicken platter and was impressed. The second and third times I got their fish plate, and was even more pleased. The platter came with 2 nice size fish pieces, about 4x4 cm pieces each. The fish pieces were white and about an inch thick each. Today, we purchased the fish platter and I have no idea what they put in the platter. It was not the fish I'd had in the past. Today we got what appeared to be a fried fritter. They were about 2x 2 cm un size, and not even a half an inch in thickness. There was no fish noted in the fried batter. Horrible! Shah's, what happened? So terribly disappointed!

Just went tonight and grabbed 2 chicken platters to go with my fiancé. The employees were wonderful. Beyond kind and personable. The food I don’t have words for. I didn’t take a photo due to being over excited but the portions are more than fair for what you pay. The hot sauce is VERY hot for me personally but I like it. The salata that comes with the entree is so fresh and tasty. The chicken is perfectly cooked - tender and seasoned deliciously. Even the rice is a masterpiece. We also highly recommend the pakora chips! They’re crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the outside, seasoned, and made fresh to order. We were even told by the staff that we were welcome to sit and make ourselves comfortable while we waited for the chips since they are made to order but our food was done so fast we barely had a chance to! We’re not done eating but we’ve already agreed this will be our Saturday night go to. For 2 people getting 2 platters and a side of pakora chips it was just $30. You’d spend more per person getting dinner from any other restaurant around.

Today was my first time at Shah’s Halal Food & it was DELICIOUS!!! The portions & taste are great. I’ll definitely be back.

Finally a place in Chicagoland that does the Halal chicken and rice the right way. I also tried the chop cheese which was authentic out of Brooklyn. This is the only place doing it right in the area. Today was probably my 8th time there since they’ve opened. Great place, keep it up. *The other new place is all show and no taste or class for that matter.

They were friendly and the service was fast. That was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle… 👌🏽 (chefs kiss)
