This place deserves all the 5 stars it can get. The owner was super sweet and guided us through the food options (there were many, and each one looked amazing). The food was delicious and the portions were so large, it was a bit hard to finish!
After living in this area for my entire life, I found it about ten years ago while driving down Capital Avenue. I love the food (The stew and BBQ don't make it home since I start eating it in my car). The owner is super kind and laid back. He tends to be the one working everyday. I wish it opened earlier for lunch since I would have liked to have many many more lunches there. Parking is tricky since it is on the street in a busy area of Bridgeport.
The restaurant is back fully open, I called to confirm! Tuesday - Saturday, 1:30-8:30p
It was a Saturday night and Infound myself in Bridgeport with friends. We were going ice skating so I searched the app for a spot near the venue. I popped in, looked at all the options, and chose the ones that stood out to me, and had a seat. The food was flavorful, the wait time was quick, i just wish I could have tried more of their selections.
I had been meaning to try this place for ages and finally got around to it. So glad I did! Insane deal with a 6-item platter for $15. The barbecue tofu and vegan chicken were outstanding. So excited to come back. Chef was very nice and walked me through the whole menu. Wholeheartedly recommend any vegans in or passing through Connecticut to check out this spot!
Love it! One of my go to spot
Outstanding vegan Caribbean takeout in Bridgeport. Get the six choice meal and try something different each time. Everything is delicious and high quality. Brought it to Berlinetta down the road a mile or so to eat with a good beer. I wish I lived closer..

Holy cannoli! Just stopped for the first time...what is wrong with me!?!?? This place is OUTSTANDING. If you haven't been here yet, run! And if you have, run!! Everything was AMAZING. Everyone was right. It is the absolute best around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best vegan food in the state of Connecticut!! Shandal has been at it for 18+ years and the food is simply amazing! You can get 4 or 6 options and he has about 12 things to choose from. Some items are; Rasta Pasta, Sunshine Tofu, Ribz and Onions, Pepper & Onion with chick’n, Lo Mein, Okra, Carrot Stew, Potato Curry, and more. It’s take-out mostly and set up cafeteria style. The owner is a kind and generous man. All my non-vegan friends LOVE his food. I can’t say enough…you must go try!

This is a classic small neighborhood spot. The owner is clearly very proud of his food, he told me he created all the recipes himself and asked me to taste it before using hot sauce. Overall, the food was good. The spicy chicken stew with potatoes was the best of the bunch. I didn't try the rasta pasta but everyone else in line did. He had two other pasta dishes that looked interesting - baked shells and lo mein. Overall solid.
Oh, where do I begin? Wonderful food made by someone who obviously takes pride in their craft. Even the carnivores enjoyed it!My partner and I come from a small town in upstate New York, vegan options are few and far between. So naturally, visiting friends in the area I did some searching for food we could all eat. Upon walking in, we were given the disclaimer EVERYTHING is vegan and nothing comes from a can.Once we were told what everything was, our group made decisions and we ate in the cozy little dining area. The owner/chef came and chatted with us. We spoke a little bit about his lifestyle and how more people should live with more child like wonderment
Parking: Busy street, people can be pushy - parallel parking is high potential.
