Thelma’s Soul Food Restaurant & Bar

The food was on point...I been here several times...bit this time, they had everything I wanted first shot... Great vibes...hats off to the dj and wait staff

My experience was not great. My family and I went there today. It was a total of 20 of us. Five of them left because it was 40 mins before anyone ever came to even take our drink orders. The restaurant was completely empty. The young man with dreads at the register eventually came to take our drink orders after we asked for help. A few minsters later a Hispanic guy came out with water and dropped the entire tray of water glasses on my mother. Accidents happen but he didn’t even apologize. I own a restaurant so I still try to recover and give this establishment another chance. We then asked a young lady who came out and greeted us if she could help because the guy at the register seemed new or either slow. He just couldn’t comprehend anything. We repeated each other 3-5 times. The young lady was extremely pleasant and hospitable. She is the only reason we didn’t leave. I spent $100 alone but I would never go back. The food wasn’t bad at all. The yams 🔥

Potato salad and collard greens were not good. The chicken was good. Overall the staff was amazing but the food was mid

I normally don't post bad reviews. I was totally disappointed. Food had no flavor. Had the Mac & cheese with chicken. No flavor on either and no cheese. In addition I had the fried fish no flavor and I knew from when I opened the container fish was not going to waste well. (I could tell it was not seasoned) I for one can't do spices due to health issues so for me to say no taste (flavor) it's serious. Wouldn't do anything do o er on my expense. Place was beautiful wait time was extremely long. I could've overlook wait time if Food was I want to smack my momma.
Update i called back to the restaurant spoke with Jennifer who was very understanding and polite and offered a refund. Thank you Jennifer.

Slow and the food I would give 6.5 out of 10 had to send my wife pork chops back the we're under cook and took about 30 minutes for my order that was just side dish!

Goood eats, good people and music that make you wanna dance with a spoon in your mouth! Will go back again

I had the fish collard greens and potato salad it took 50 mins for the plate the fish was at best old cold and didn't come out of no hot grease pissed. They must've been trying to be funny the plate in the garbage outside closest to the restaurant more then likely still there just there 5/29. The girl with the big lips was nice the dj was nice holding a vibe. Order 36 7:54pm left hungry not satisfied 😑

Oh my Goodness!! I am perplexed to believe this is a black owned, I have Never had such tasteless food in my life! Mac & Cheese without cheese😡cabbage that doesn’t even have salt! Food cold, no utensils, definitely don’t recommend!! So Very DISAPPOINTED 🤬

We were in town attending my sister's fashion show downtown. Went on Google Maps to find something delicious in the area for food, and based on the ratings decided to try thelma's. Their food was damn delicious! Everything we got, there were four of us was Damn Delicious lol. The only complaint my mom had was there was no tartar sauce for the fish but it was still delicious. Everything was seasoned and and cooked right. We got Mac and cheese, yams, potato salad, and rice with black eyed peas, all we recommend!
For Meats we got the fried fish, pulled pork, and smothered pork chops. The pork chops melted in my mouth and we're awesome as hell. No disappointment here

My go to place in Bridgeport. The atmosphere & vibe is awesome. We always party hard here. I'll be back with my whole crew on Nov 9th to have a great time. Did I leave out the prices are reasonable & the food is delicious

We had my boyfriends birthday celebration there and it was pretty good, my sister in law and I were told we could decorate if we wanted to but we ended up not decorating. But my sister in law shot off a confetti popper and a waitress came over and scolded us and very rudely told us "DONT DO THAT AGAIN". Kind of threw off the celebration mood.

OMG, I had Thelma's for the 1rst time today and...............OMG, I can't even find the words to explain how DELICIOUS the food was. I ordered a large amount of food and it came out quick, fresh.l and HOT. I have been searching for a Soulfood spot for years, as my husband and I are fairly new to CT from NY, but we're BEYOND happy and full off Thelma's. Thank You for the excellent customer service as the 2 people in the front, I should have gotten their names, they were patient and very kind. Felt very homey and I will definitely tell everyone I know and will be back sooner than later !
