This place was delicious! Not for the germaphobes, but the ice cream was excellent. I ordered the banana split, which I couldn’t quite finish because it was so large. I watched him whip the whip cream fresh. I tried the caramel crunch, strawberry and Dutch chocolate which were all great flavors. 10/10 would go out of my way to eat here again.
CASH or CHECK only.

Walked in and walked right back out. The place looks like a dirty dump with peeling wallpaper that looks 50 years old. I can’t trust that it’s food safe. Also, they only take cash and checks… idk who would want to write a check for $4

The best ice cream in the area.
Was passing through CT on the way home to Jersey when I decided to ditch the traffic on 95 around Bridgeport. This by far was one of the better decisions I made this century. Timothy's doesn't look like much from the outside or the inside for that matter, but like my mama said, "Never judge a book by its cover." Timothy's not only makes some of the best homemade ice cream I've ever had, but they also make homemade whipped cream. Yes, you read that correctly-homemade whipped cream. I had the Oreo ice cream and it was amazing. Also tried the toasted almond and it was out of this world.Everything tasted so fresh and it's no surprise this place has been around for decades!
They make thebest coconut ice cream in the world, l kid you not. The recipe is with fresh ingredients and lots of shredded coconut ?.!

Timothy‘s is IMO the best homemade ice cream I have had in Connecticut. Blows Ferris Acres out of the water. A lot of “homemade“ ice creams have thickeners added, because when they start to melt they stay sort of gummy. Not Timothy’s. My favorite is Sweet Cream, tastes like exactly what the name says and when it melts, it runs down the cone like, you know, CREAM. They don’t have as many flavors at the same time as some bigger places, but what they have they excel at. Seasonal peach ice cream with real chunks of fresh peach (not peach preserves swirled through it like at FA, which made it overly sweet). Timothy’s is a no-frills, less-known CT gem for simply great ice cream.

I've been going to Timothy's since it opened in the early 80s as a little kid. I've not had consistently better ice cream in my life and I love ice cream. This place is an amazing gem with dozens of "best of" ice cream awards on the wall. I've finally been able to start sharing it with my son and I hope the store lives on for his children. The owner couldn't be nicer, he greets my family every time we go in, including this past weekend. The prices are reasonable and it's an adorable throw back in time to an era of handmade, old fashion ice cream. The "mix-ins" are truly the best way to eat ice cream! You can't go wrong with anything, but my favor flavors are Oreo (literally the best I've ever had), caramel crunch, sweet cream, and Black Rock. If you're ever driving down I-95 in CT, get off at exit 24 in Fairfield and follow the GPS to Timothy's Ice Cream in Black Rock, about 3 minutes away. You won't regret it. It might even make you forget about the traffic. CT does have a few amazing, classic, old school restaurants. This place is certainly in the same conversation as Sally's Apizza and Louis' Lunch in New Haven for CT gems. You can even do the 1-2 punch and hit Super Duper Weenie on the same 3 minute drive from the highway. Guy Fieri totally missed the boat when he hit Super Duper Weenie and not Timothy's, rookie mistake. Timothy's is not one to miss!!! Skip the Fairfield Pepe's Pizza, it's fallen very far from the tree of the New Haven classic. There's a Sally's opening in the same area... TBD.

Rich ice creams
Old school ice cream parlor with delicious traditional ice cream. Nostalgic.
Another top notch Ice cream place. We got a Lg sundae. The home-made ice cream is so so so good.
