Maker 37 has a gorgeous, secluded setting right on the Connecticut River, and the terrace view alone is worth the visit. Watching boats drift by under a blue sky, surrounded by colorful autumn trees, truly feels special — the location and view are amazing!
As for the food — while everything was tasty, it didn’t quite match the premium pricing. Our lunch came to almost $50 per person, and for that, we expected a bit more creativity and finesse. The menu leans toward classic bar fare rather than elevated dining. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and flavorful for sure, and the chicken wings (loaded with garlic) were good, but not really worth their upscale price tag. The pistachio liqueur was a pleasant touch — nice, though not particularly creative or outstanding.
Overall, the ambiance and location are the true highlights here, making it a great spot to relax by the river and enjoy a meal with friends. But if you’re coming primarily for the culinary experience, the food quality doesn’t quite justify the cost. Still, this is a beautiful place for lunch with an unforgettable view.

On Saturday, 10/04/2025, my two friends and I docked our boat next to Marker 37 for what we hoped would be a quick drink and bite to eat. Upon arrival, the waitress rudely told us it would be a 45-minute wait for a table and 25 minutes for the bar, despite the fact that more than half the restaurant was empty and tables were already preset.
When we politely asked if we could at least grab a drink from the bar and head outside while we waited, she once again snapped and repeated the same response. The attitude and lack of basic hospitality were completely unnecessary and disappointing. Especially, within view other patrons were doing just that.
I’ve been to Marker 37 dozens of times over the years and have recommended it just as many. But after this experience, that was my last visit, and the last time I’ll ever recommend it. There are plenty of other shoreline restaurants with great water views and far better service that will be getting my business instead.

We wanted to love this place. Beautiful atmosphere and a nice menu, but the food was extremely lacking and service was mediocre. (Appeared to be short staffed) dinner for two people with drinks, an app, and a dessert to share with tip was nearly $200. I expect excellent food and service for that price, but was highly disappointed. To start, I ordered the passionfruit margarita, but they were out of that. I ended up getting a strawberry mango margarita which was okay. The sesame crusted tuna came out well done when we ordered it rare/ med rare. We informed the server who had the dish remade. The Tuna came out a second time cooked correctly, but lacked any flavor and desperately needed a sauce. Extremely dry. Meanwhile, I had already finished eating by the time my husband’s new dinner came out. I ordered the scallops. The scallops tasted good, but the mashed potatoes had no flavor. No salt and pepper on the table to add either. We decided to try dessert since we were still fairly hungry after our disappointing entrees. My keoke iced espresso cocktail was described as having a chocolate drizzle, which sounded yummy. It did not come with that. We also got the peanut butter chocolate cake, which was described on the menu to have whipped cream and berries. We were served a dry piece of cake with no whipped cream or berries. Our problems with the food and drinks being served inaccurately should have been rectified in the restaurant, yet we were offered no compensation. Overall a very disappointing dinner.

We were sitting outside, enjoying the view and the weather. We finished our meal and were contemplating dessert when management came over and rolled down the vinyl siding because someone who had just sat down complained they were cold. The temp immediately rose at least 10 degrees. The management did not care that we didn’t want the vinyl down-he was more concerned about the other customer who should have been moved inside. Our waitress was very apologetic but nothing she could do. Our view was gone and it was now too hot to sit there. We paid our bill and left immediately. We will not be back after being treated like that. Hope the other customer was worth it

We visited the restaurant. We were surprised that the wine was served in water glasses. Although there were wine glasses behind the bar, it was quite inconvenient. We accidentally spilled some on the table. To which the waitress who served us, Lacey G., did not even react. We wiped the table with the napkins that we had. They brought hot dishes. They did not remove the dirty soup plates. Until they made a remark: The service is disgusting!!! The food is quite tasty. I would hardly recommend my friends to come here, and only because of the service. We were left with an unpleasant impression and a ruined mood. I hope the manager will pay attention to our review.
