Absolute favorite restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing. The drinks are amazing. The atmosphere is ridiculously lovely. Would definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: They happily accommodate dietary restrictions. I have brought vegetarian and vegan friends here who have had no problem finding really tasty things on the menu.Dietary restrictions: They are happy to accommodate any allergies. I brought my good friend here who is allergic to nuts and they were very accommodating and helpful.

The bartender made us lemonade, even though it’s not on the menu. What a gem. Perks of going in the offseason! We ordered the burger and the new chicken sandwich. They were juicy and delicious, and so filling! I couldn’t even finish my fries. The aesthetic is chic and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for an adorable little town, or a great date night, Chester is the place to be. The Village Bistro might be a good stop, but I would say only for drinks. My partner and I started out with a vodka gimlet, and their signature "Hucklecherry Finn." The gimlet my partner got was just okay, but the "Hucklecherry Finn" I ordered was next level. To say that it was amazing is truly an understatement. It was SO delicious, and such a memorable drink - so much so that we each got one on second round.Unfortunately, my praises go south from there. The oysters we started with were good, but were served with a sort of cocktail sauce that was smokey, and almost more reminiscent of a barbecue sauce. The butternut crab bisque, roasted pork belly, and ricotta toast came next (almost 25 minutes later, mind you). The crab in the bisque was tasty and tender, but the bisque was very watery. The pork belly lacked much flavor; the little bit of peanut butter was melted down at the bottom of the plate, and the "jalapeño apple jam" consisted more of just chopped up apples on top. The ricotta toast was probably the best out of these three, with good-tasting sausage. We split the vodka rigatoni, and while the pasta was cooked well (not overdone and not al dente), the taste was truly unremarkable. Before being offered dessert, we were already finding alternative options. (Thank goodness Honeycone was still open to salvage the night). The ambiance was great, and our server was wonderful (slow food service aside).Overall, not worth the $160+ (before tip) I spent.

It's such a wonderful place. Every person in my party loved their meal. I had the tofu fried rice, and it was divine. The best part though was the staff at the bistro, the service was impressive and every person we spoke to was so kind and warm. It will be my pleasure to visit again. I hope I see you all soon!Vegetarian options: I had the tofu fried rice but this place is so accommodating I'm pretty sure they would take menu modifications if you wanted to make something else vegetarian.Kid-friendliness: My 15 year old son was with me. He is on the spectrum and a very difficult eater. They didn't give me any trouble ordering from the kids menu and treated him with the utmost respect.

After going to Gillette Castle we were looking for somewhere nearby to get a bite to eat and happened upon the Village Bistro in Chester. We were so glad we did! From the heavy velvet drapes keeping drafts from the doorway at bay to the cork walls, tin ceilings, copper covered tables and beautiful decor it felt like stepping into a jewel of a European bistro. How delighted were we to find out the food was top notch and the service impeccable as well. We were there while brunch was being served I opted for the quiche it was creamy, cheesy and delicious easily one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband is vegan they very nicely accommodated his request for the tofu fried rice which is on the dinner not the brunch menu. I admit to scooping up a fork full super flavorful absolutely delicious. My mother in law thoroughly enjoyed her salad and proclaimed the decaf coffee (served in a french press) exceptionally good. Since the meal was so delicious I had to check out the dessert menu. I chose the cherry and pear clafoutis a wonderful crustless tart with the perfect consistency and just the right amount of sweetness. All and all a great experience. Something tells me we will happily make the 45 minute drive to go back.

This is our favorite restaurant for dinner and a Sunday brunch in Chester. The food is so delicious. This is the perfect place, because if you’re in the mood for a fantastic duck or fish dish go here or an incredible burger GO HERE! Get the sour dough with the magic butter, it WILL blow your mind! And if you do get the burger, just live a little and add the egg and bacon (you WILL NOT regret it). We’ve taken so many friends and family here, and every single person left so happy and full. The ambiance will make you feellike your in a romantic /vintage / classy restaurant in France. Each time I’ve dined here, I always enjoy looking around, there’s so much detail. Chelsey (the owner) always always takes care of Anthony and I, making sure we’re happy and all is perfect. She’s gone above and beyond to make any celebration extra special for us. Her and her sister are wonderful people! (Oh and Chelsey makes incredible cocktails!!!! You won’t go wrong with any of their specialty drinks, she does also make a killer espresso martini and an old fashion)

Very disappointed in the Monkfish "Osso Buco". It was way overcooked and mushy. Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer was good.
