We recently dined at Daiko Jerry San's Sushi Bar which was our best Japanese culinary experience in CT to date. And next up was Masa Sushi which friends recommended; we were excited to check it out and see how it compares. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to the recommendation or comparison; the dining experience was average at best. Some of the food was good while other dishes were not. Total bill for party of 3, excluding tip, was $135 which included 2 cocktails and a beer, two appetizers, and 4 entrees. One of the sushi entrees was excellent, one was not, and of the two hibachi dishes ordered, the vegetarian hibachi arrived with equal parts cold and warm, and both hibachi dishes had oily and bland rice. The hibachi dishes didn’t taste fresh, and not a fan of eating cold or warm food when it is supposed to be hot. Had also requested the shrimp on the side but it never arrived. The tofu appetizer was okay but also bland and too silky on the inside, and the edamame appetizer was good. Maybe this was a one-off but a one and done for us.

I don’t know how anyone can give this restaurant anything less than 5 stars. The owners are the kindest, most respectful people and always asking how your night has been and how your dining experience is. The rolls are incredibly fresh , delicious and priced so reasonably. Our favorite place on the shoreline, visiting probably every other week . Trust me when I say it’s the best !

The best sushi restaurant In CT. The freshness of the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the all around experience makes this the perfect lunch, diner date, or even take out spot. We have been here well over 3 times a month and never had a bad experience.

Thank you Michael and Sue for another fantastic dinner! We celebrated our 55th Wedding Anniversary at Masa Sushi this evening with an extraordinary dinner. Clear Mushroom soup warmed our souls. Our favorite appetizers, Gyoza and Brussel Sprouts were the perfectly prepared and exactly as we expected. A Spicy Salmon Roll and a Spicy Scallop Roll with different dipping sauces was an exceptional treat. Finishing off the dinner with Kimchi Soba was the perfect ending to a perfect dinner. Our servers Kay and Ivy made the night extra special.
Michael and Susan, thank you again for making our Anniversary such a special night.

I’m so happy Masa Sushi is here! Because I’m live in Clinton and we need the good restaurant in Town. My husband and I were love this restaurant very much. The food is always so good! The staff and the owner are very nice! There Sushi always fresh and good and the Hibachi is very delicious also! I’m highly recommend this place to anyone!

Soup spilled in take out bag. I got the steak and lobster combo. For $45 I expected more steak. I also expected my steak to be cooked medium rare as I requested and my lobster to actually be seasoned. I spent nearly $100 for food that was worth maybe $50 at best. Very disappointing.
