What a disappointing experience we had today at the bidwell tavern. I think our server just forgot that we were her table. We ordered some of their famous wings for an appetizer, the reason we went there tbh, and after a long wait we asked another server if she would check on them for us and she brought them out right away. They were not fresh and had obviously been sitting for a while, but they were still delicious even though they were cold. I ordered a beer when we finished...
We opted to dine outside on the patio. Each table had a fan designed to keep the flies away from your food but they weren't much of a problem. The server was good. It was a beautiful late afternoon to enjoy the patio. I ordered a pumpkin martini for starters. I was disappointed by how small it was and that it came in a plastic cup but the martini itself was good. I ordered a salad which was very good but the plate it was served on made it difficult to cut the vegetables...
Wings are probably the best I’ve ever had. Hot garlic wings were A++. Stopped in late night after producing an event in town. Although they were getting ready to close they stayed open for us to eat. Very cool main dining room from the late 1800’s.
