Beautiful restaurant located on the shore of Coventry lake. You can eat inside or on the patio. Both have great views of the lake. The food was outstanding!!! Service was good. No issues getting a table for 9 to have a family celebration.

It was nice to be able to sit outside with our young grandchildren where they didn't seem to be a bother to any of the other diners. But we felt pretty much ignored. It took a long time to have our order taken, then one drink was missing and one entire entree never arrived. We would have asked about it, but our waitrrss never came back to check on us. Won't return

Honestly, this venue is extremely overpriced compared to other local restaurants, including a few that are nationally ranked. The waitstaff were excellent and there is a great selection of food. My wife and I were quite disappointed in the food we were served. The fried shrimp plate consisted mostly of a huge bed of fries and only 8 shrimp. My wife ordered the chicken kabobs which she felt were overcooked, while the broccoli was undercooked. Our meal (no dessert and only one drink) came to $80. I know this is a popular local restaurant, but I can't recommend it to anyone.

The new ordering system through your phone is terrible. The wifi isn't very strong and it's a complicated process. Its much more preferable to have a server to interact with for a higher end dining experience. The system was extremely frustrating as the wifi was very weak and I didn't have any cell service without the wifi.

We reserved a table but there was no hostess on duty when we arrived. The sign was out to seat ourselves instead. All ordering of food and drink was done through our phones. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers. The mussels appetizer was not good - they were definitely not fresh mussels. Some of them were unopened so they had already gone bad. We told our server about the problem, but the dish was not taken off our bill. It was very clear that this restaurant is extremely short-handed with staff and also low on inventory of food. We will still come here because of the location and the view. Hopefully things will return to normal here soon.

We went there for lunch and it was very nice. Great selection of tables to pick from both indoor and outdoor and the view by the water was great! I love the speed of ordering on the app so You don't have to wait for someone to come over to add items. Great time and location

I had heard great things about this place. Sadly that was not my experience. We had to ask for menus, had to flag down a waiter for drinks, then appetizers and entrées arrived almost together. We had outdoor seating... so many flies!! A bit pricey as well compared to other restaurant restaurants nearby.

The restaurant is beautifully situated and the wait staff was very good. My biggest complaint? Order a pasta dish- no salad, no available side salad and no bread. You get a bowl of pasta. Ruins the experience, I'll go to Georgina's- food just as good and the peripherals put it heads above Lakeview

I have been going here periodically for well over 15 years. It has been a choice primarily for its ambience and good food. Historically the service has been great however the restaurant has now shifted to a very impersonal on-line ordering platform wherein you scan a QR code and place your order using your phone. I found the menu more difficult to browse in this manner and it detracts from time with friends and company. Also, once orders were placed and eventually delivered by wait staff, the wait staff rarely returned to the table for any follow up needs or checks. They simply dropped off the orders and walked away. After waiting about twenty minutes for a dessert we ordered I had to leave my table to find wait staff to inquire about its status. He was very attentive and within 3 minutes had delivered it to our table. That was our last interaction with staff as they never returned to ensure our on-line bill was clear and complete. I may not return if the current process remains as it was clear management is pulling a Walmart attitude by understaffing and making the customer perform their own services.

Situated by Coventry Lake, this restaurant has great ambience but it is spoiled by the lack of tilting umbrellas so that in the afternoon, you are sittingi n the hot sun. The food is very good but a little overpriced; what really annoyed us was that after ordering refills of our diet cokes, we found out that each refill was charged. This is quite upsetting as (1) we should have been told before confirming the order that there were NO free refills; (2) at $3.50 apiece, a refill of a soda SHOULD have been included in the price; (3) at the prices we were paying for food, this extra tab was disquieting. This soda problem put a pall over the whole experience and I doubt we will go back to this restaurant again. If you are not ordering soft drinks, and don't mind paying a little extra for common menus, then it will be an ok place to go but otherwise, Beware! PS Server was extraodinary and not her fault!!

We are long customers of Lakeview. We have always loved the food and atmosphere. Things have definitely changed, likely due to Covid, but I do feel it is worth sharing to prevent people from having a similar experience in the future. We went for Lunch on Father's Day. The restaurant was only a quarter full inside, about half full outside. We were seated immediately and within a couple of minutes placed our drink orders. I had the white sangria which was actually juice with fruit, too sweet to even drink. I have had their sangria before, this was not the same. We placed our orders which included an appetizer and meals. The appetizer never came, and then our meals came out. We requested to cancel the appetizer which our server did. We ordered 2 glasses of wine with the meal, and proceeded to eat our meals, without the wine. Once we finished our meals, we requested that we cancel the wines because they never came and we were done eating and ready for the check. 10 minutes later, the wines are brought to the table by someone else. We were told by the waitress that she was advised to charge us for them so we should just take them. We requested to speak with someone, no one would come. She proceeded to put the wine in a to go ice cream cup saying “this is the best that I can do for you”. She then gave us our check. We asked to speak to the owner, who we know by face, but basically told us they won't be coming out. We paid the bill, left an appropriate 20% tip, and basically told ourselves we will never come back. On our way out, the owner is standing by the hostess station. We informed her of the poor service and that the situation was handled, in our opinion, inappropriately. She proceeded to tell us that people nowadays sit on the patio which is ordering through a QR code and are frequently ordering and not paying, and that they don't adjust anything anymore because of this, even if they are at fault. Needless to say, we won't be back, which is sad.

The restaurant was way over booked with Mother's Day and college graduation. The servers were stressed, and did their best. Food was OK and there was a very limited menu for the special occasion.

Quite possibly the worst dinner experience. We were a party of 5 for pre-graduation dinner. Food was expensive ($30-40 for simple entree) but could have been tolerated had it been good, which it was not. It was terrible. We started with a margarita and sangria, which was served in large plastic cups with lots of ice and was tasteless. The spring rolls we ordered as an appetizer were clearly microwaved from frozen because they were cold inside. The entree ranged from barely OK (my son's salmon dinner) to bad (a too-tough-to-cut prime rib) to inedible (rubbery chicken marsala with greasy sauce and one foreign object -- a piece of plastic). While dining options in the area are limited you are better off with a pizza from one of the many such establishments around, or the Dog Lane Cafe in Storrs for casual, or the Cafe Aura in nearby Manchester for upscale. Fenton River Grill is also much better than the Lakeview -- although admittedly ANYTHING is probably better.

Not sure what happened but they used to have a full menu but this time it was a one pager so not many options. The floors and table were a bit slanted and the chairs felt a little flimsy. For some reason they served the drinks in plastic cups which really kills the feeling of a real meal. Server gave a couple of our plates to another table then realized his mistake and tried to take them away from the other people and give them back to us - don't want food that someone else already started touching and breathing on. This was a graduation dinner so luckily I don't ever need to go back there again.
