I wouldn’t eat here again if the apocalypse came and nothing else would keep me alive. Owners are rude and confrontational over their inability to properly cook food. Please read yelp reviews as well prior to coming here as they paint a more accurate depiction of the nonsense here. Can’t eat a breakfast sandwich or bagel in the restaurant. You can’t dislike anything that’s served to you without owners going as far as calling the police. The single worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant

This is a take-out order review for Woke After Hours Burgers and Desserts. I've come for breakfast many, many times and really enjoyed it (shoutout to the crepes especially the Peaches & Cream!), so I was excited to order dinner.

I ordered the After Hours Burger (pineapple, bacon, chipotle sauce, sauteed onion) with the ground beef patty and an Oreo milkshake.

I'm not usually a burger person...but this was a really, really good burger! If you look at Woke's social media you'll see there is a LOT packed in a burger. There's something about the taste & texture of the patty combined with the melty Oaxaca cheese that really hits different compared with your other burger options in this area. Everything else in the burger was also great but it helps a lot that the base of the burger itself - the patty plus cheese - is moist and packed with flavor.

The burger came with waffle fries which were crisp and flavorful. The Oreo milkshake was also creamy and very Oreo-y just as you'd hope.

Overall I really enjoyed my order and I'm excited to try some of the other burgers on the menu in the future. (Or the crepes - so happy that those made it to the dinner menu!)

On my humble opinion the food lacks taste and presentation of a good american breakfast, cut potatoes where hard to chew and my omelet lacked flavor.
I heard a lot good references about this place, hence my visit, unfortunately for my taste not worth the hype, maybe another dish would have been better.

RUDE OWNER. MEDIOCRE FOOD, at Hartford prices. Rushed to eat, rushed to leave.

Be advised, you have “rules” to follow.

1. You cannot order a side you MUST order an entree to get a side.

2. There is a “time limit”. If you exceed 45 minutes, you will be asked to leave regardless of how LONG it takes for the food to come out.

3. The orange juice comes out in a children’s sized glass. Good luck getting a refill.

4. The food is mid, decent is overstating. For $100 plus, you’d expect basic service.

5. If you ask people to leave, people will. DONT REMIND THEM ON THE WAY OUT TO LEAVE. DONT BE RUDE. This is Coventry, a small town with good people - not Tijuana.

BLUF: If you want decent food, choose to eat like you’re in a Vietnam chow hall and want to over pay for low tier under seasoned cuisine, this is for you!

Also, if you have a disability and need a booth, the OWNER (SHE) will not permit you to sit in a booth if your party is 2. If packing people in and rushing guests out over customer service just to make another dollar is your business plan, then we all look forward to Leo moving you out and brining in someone else. DO better.

We visited for breakfast with a group of six women and had a very disappointing experience. Right when we arrived, the owner informed us that we had only 45 minutes to eat, which immediately made the visit feel rushed, especially considering the restaurant was not busy at the time.

Throughout the meal, we felt pressured to finish quickly. The bill was brought out before we were ready, and plates were being cleared while we were still sitting and enjoying our conversation. What was meant to be a relaxed breakfast turned into an uncomfortable experience where we felt unwelcome.

We understand time limits during peak hours, but this was handled poorly and without consideration for our group. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning and would not recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed meal.

I went to Woke restaurant about a week ago and we were very excited to try it for the first time. When we arrived we noticed all the tables are high top and the chairs are stool height. One of the people in our party is in a transport chair and has MS multiple sclerosis. The two women working tried to help but the chairs were too high and she was unable to sit in the chair. We were very disappointed.
It is very surprising to see a restaurant that does not offer any handicap seating. I would assume the restaurant had to be inspected prior to opening and would have to be in compliance with ADA laws. I am also very surprised that this has never been brought to their attention before. If a standard size table was brought in it would solve this problem.
I hope the owners and anyone reading this can understand how frustrating it is when a business is not accessible.

Great place, great vibe, great food!
Stopped in after collecting our son from college who recommended this place to us. I wish I had known about this place sooner.

Food was really good and highly recommend.
Decor was really nice and love the booths. I was a little disappointed that breakfast sandwiches were only a to go item, not sure why. However saying that I really enjoyed the classic combo. I found a lot of the options are sweet rather than savory so maybe keep that in mind.

Definitely 💯

Avoid going on a weekend at all costs. The staff was not kind at all. After hearing the wait time (which is absolutely valid since it’s a Sunday, I understand) we decided to get just coffee to go. (Note: At the door there are two tables, I felt SO bad for those people they had to eat next to all the people coming in/waiting for to go). NOT a good setup inside, very crammed. They wanted us to order online rather than the counter since they were busy, okay no problem. We start ordering online and a person had a second to take our order, and this person seemed VERY stressed out. After paying, we didn’t know where to stand since the establishment is quite small, and we didn’t want to get in the way. The person at the register told us to stand over there since people need to walk around here (at the counter space), pointed to the door where there was a couch in an in between room, and said they’d call our name when the coffee is ready. Cool, no problem. We decided to stand outside since there were people already standing in that room. After 5 minutes, we headed inside (the space was no longer filled with people) and stood waiting. People came in to place food/drink orders after us, and got their items before us. I don’t usually care, especially if a place is slammed, and just kept waiting patiently. After 20 more minutes, a cook actually asked the front register person what we were waiting for, she said “coffee to go” and the cook told her to make them since we’ve been waiting a while. She forgot our order since it had been so long, so we let her know what we got and she made our drinks. She didn’t say goodbye, or have a good day, or anything. She just kinda gave the coffee and turned around. It was just an extremely uncomfortable experience, and I personally don’t think I’ll give this place another chance. Random note, one of the tables that was sitting in the entrance had been there the whole time we were there and never got water or drinks. The waitress asked if they needed anything else once she brought their food, they asked for water, and she yelled to the poor girl working the register to get them waters. I know they were busy, I totally get that, but the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience for coming in? Idk, the vibe was really strange and not welcoming. There also seemed to be 3 people working Sunday? That seems messed up, the staff was obviously stressed out and the atmosphere suffered immensely. I don’t mind waiting 25 mins for coffee by ANY means, but that paired with the vibe had kinda sealed the deal. Also…the coffee was 7$ and was not good (but that’s my opinion)

A cut above other breakfast places. Prices reflect that but well worth it. The variety of the menu is a nice change of pace.

To tell a hungry customer at 2:35pm you are closed while an employee is eating behind the counter is truly epic .

“Did you order for pick up because we are closed”. As the staff member is stuffing her face while talking. lol

I would have had some sort of consideration if it was 5-10 minutes before closing time , but today’s customer service and work ethic is horrible . So I get it !
